Hi all,
Just got myself an old afx set which I have set up and am loving. Can't get loop to work but not fussed.
One question I do have tho...
I have cleaned the track and one lane works perfectly but the other has no power to certain sections. What is the best way to fix this? Reclean all contacts etc...?

Many thanks

Welcome, welcome.

Afx power issues are almost always caused by corrosion on the joins.
You will need to clean the connections, and the protect them with something like inox.
I generally used steel wool, with patience, but if they were really bad, I used a small file.
The inox is important as it reduced the chances of the corrosion returning.

Awesome, thanks. I've used contact cleaner on the tracks but the issue is that certain sections just seem "dead". Will source steel wool or a micro file this week.

Seems to be an issue with not fitting correctly. I'm having real issues getting the track to "work" as in all pieces are correctly attached yet they meet the next. The outer edges of corners get pulled apart slightly and break the circuit. Banked corner seems to be the main culprit. Changed shape of track and all is well now. Shame as I loved the circuit I had set up.

That is definately one of the downsides of the rigid AFX track...

Also, the AFX 70607 Straight 3" is great for making things line up better...
