Final Round Wrc And Historic Shelmore Hillclimb

Recommended Posts

Thanks to all the people at all the stages of this series who helped in running this great series and to the organisation in particular, and congratulations also to all of the runners who entered this year was partiicularry interested in Phils 205 and Rustys Porsche kept my eye on those cars with thoughts of the future, personally very happy with most of the performance of the RS but as i,ve said time to retire it so great to see it go out on a high.

Alexis and Cure seems to want Kilslot chassis again fine but why JUST Kilslot has anyone tried the new Scaleauto cars with a inline motor mount glued in i have and looks great potential have the Subaru and the RS and make my MSC look a bit slow with the same motor in and of course there are other 3d chassis that adapt easily to any rally car i have a few of those under testing , but do we want to go along this road ? and if you want to run a SCX why not run it in 2wd version quicker than 4wd standard form with a ninco 5 in it with adaptor in the back, alloy wheels , and you can use the chicken legs or do what i have done in a Mitsi fitted a Ninco sprung guide easy conversion with a file and a bit of plastic card , but do we want to go down that road would it change the whole idea of the OZ i really don't know , as i have said be interested after the dust has settled to see what Phil and others are thinking as regards the future of the OZ .

Big thanks to Phil and his willing band of helpers, track owners, drivers, marshals and of course my fellow competitors for a great proxy.

Congrats o to all the podiumites for some great performances.

Not sure about some of the suggestions for changes. With more and more of the professional type chassis being used it appears we are getting away from the original concept or perhaps what I thought it was. Personally I enjoy getting a standard toy type car and getting it going well with only the minimum of change/effort.

Just my pennies worth.

Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)

Not just kilslot, any non poded chassis ,3d printed or not, for the historics, because they are low cost (3d printed),allow the use of a decent motor(for SCX) and close the gap to,say,Ninco or MSC cars.Re SCX cars the guide system is hopless, mods to the chassis,

no thanks,i have more than one rear axle holders brake.Team Slot and Scalextric guides hopless also.

Alexis this must APPLY to WRC class as well if you go down this route, cannot just pick on one of the classes look at the DOMINANCE of Ninco in the WRC if anything more dominant than MSC in historics, but i actually agree with Charles and his point.

Personally I don't have a problem with aftermarket chassis, however, they should be...

1. Non podded

2. Same motor orientation as stock

3. Designed to fit the body (ie has all the detail parts of the original)

Well blow me down! A double wooden spoon! Surely a first in Oz Rally.....

I think I might enter two cars in each class next time so that one of me won't be last!

I have actually started work on next year's entries. A couple of cars under development will be a big improvement. The poor old Escort will be retired and the Focus could be better if I really tried. And no - I'm not going down the MSC / Ninco route. Looking forward to Round 1.
