Which Motor Has Better Braking

Whilst I don't know the answer to this specific question, but I do know the following...

1. Greater Torque = Greater Brakes

2. Shorter Gearing = Greater Brakes

3. Greater Brakes = Increased chance of lockups

4. Greater Brakes does not always equal better laps...

5. SCX Motors have far too much brakes... :)

From my experience the Shark will out brake the Piranha any day. I've geared my NSR P68 and Mk4 higher so that they are less twitchy to drive as they stop on a dime even with min brakes and a Slot.It Nissan R390 repowered with a Piranha needed to be geared lower to get it to stop. By the same token some other cars are quite happy with a Piranha and standard gearing.

the shark has better braking by far

the Piranha is on par with the slot it orange bell for speed but has a smoother torque delivery and poor braking

if you gear the Piranha lower to get a bit more braking they are a really nice motor to drive

you ideally don't want to much brakes as the car will slow down to quickly for most drivers which will increase lap times

you want the car to have a bit of coast into the corner but not to much

that way the will flow better giving you better lap times

whats where playing around with gearing while test tuning comes in

Holdens rule the rest just drool

slot cars are my drug,

I'm with you on all that, my test track is a tight rally loop, probably only one semi flowing corner, so brakes are important. What ive been doing is relying on getting a car back from a proxy and try to decrease its lap time, Sometimes it works.
