slotmadmac
Most of you will know this track It's a high gloss, high grip 95' track. We run at 12V and the boys are looking forward to putting your cars through their paces. Quote Podiums are for short people.

slotmadmac
Crockett and I both snuck off work early and qualified your cars this afternoon. As usual, the fleet was a mixed bag with some lumpy runners interspersed with some absolute gems. As expected after driving the cars in round 1, my favourite car was Orakei's silky smooth Alfa but my soft spot for CharlesX wee Macca remains intact. Good luck to all for the round tomorrow night. I wouldn't be surprised if we crack the proxy lap record - whatever that is. Quote Podiums are for short people.

slotmadmac
Congrats to AquaKiwis on Q1. That's a great time on my track and I wasn't pushing it (or any of the other cars) particularly hard. It just hangs on and is perfectly balanced. It's nowhere near as smooth as Orakei's Alfa but you can't argue with the time. It's going to be interesting tomorrow night seeing who comes out on top. Good luck boys. Peter Gunn
David can you clarify for me unstable at speed to add to my notes or future ref ta
slotmadmac
Peter - at pace, especially on the long sweeper, you car would lose grip and shudder. There were some high pace deslots as a consequence. Quote Podiums are for short people.
Peter Gunn
Thanks Mac for the info wondering if the chassis is a bit slack or possibly the tyres wearing out to do that .
difinity
Bugger. I put the Porsche together with this track and surface on mind. I am at a loss to understand how the NSR tyres work here and are so useless in NZ. Perhaps you might not push hard on the car and it might be easier to drive. Next time I might just leave the F22's on and it can slide everywhere instead...😊

I'll have a look at it tonight before the race. Quote Podiums are for short people.
aquakiwi
Both mine have Ultra grips, ones doing well, the other not quite so. Both sets been on two years.
David Carter
my car is running ultra's as well and are a couple years old but seem to work best on the car one thing I have learned is that grip is not just about the tyres there are a few factors involved like how well they are trued, how much or little body float there is and how well the chassis is set up I will have a look along with Mac tonight Quote Holdens rule the rest just drool slot cars are my drug, ATCC/Bathurst proxy host NZ Grp5 proxy host. slotmadmac
Bugger. I put the Porsche together with this track and surface on mind. I had a quick look at your car before the boys get here. Your rear tyres are visibly concave on the rims and look out of round to me. How did you true them? Quote Podiums are for short people.
Orakei Racer
Congrats to AquaKiwis on Q1. That's a great time on my track and I wasn't pushing it (or any of the other cars) particularly hard. Good luck boys. Looks like AquaKiwi will be the one to beat. Pleased with how my two cars have qualified. Whenever I setup cars for proxy now, I always use Mac's track as a benchmark. Good luck everyone for tonight. Quote Orakei Racer Slow is smooth, smooth is fast!
slotmadmac
Lots of fun in the SlotCave tonight guys. The Hawkes Bay boys turned up in force and the banter and cars were running fast. We had Wongy / Kennedy Rd in white lane, Munter in yellow, I was running red and Pat / Capri-corn on blue. Crockett and JK ran another stress free, silky smooth proxy round. It was a pleasure running the cars under their stewardship - especially the final bracket with 4 extra sweet cars on the track at one time. Crockett will upload the results later but here's a few random pix in the meantime. Quote Podiums are for short people.
David Carter
all run nice and smooth thanks goes to Kennedyrd, Munter, slotmadmac and capri-corn7 for diving J2theK for data imput Roscoe, the handler {Brendon } and Pedro for Marshall duties and catering for the worlds best slotdogs the driver off the McLaren M6 decided he had enough half way through the race and bailed leaving the car to finish Tesla style HERE ARE THE RESULTS [/url] I will get the updated overall results posted tomorrow night and give the cars a once over on the weekend and send of for round 4 Quote Holdens rule the rest just drool slot cars are my drug, ATCC/Bathurst proxy host NZ Grp5 proxy host. Orakei Racer
Thanks Mac and the Napier team for running Round 3. Congrads to AquaKiwi - 0.2 of a lap difference between 1st and 2nd - couldn't ask for a closer finish. Happy the M8 is finally running in as well. Bodes well for the rest of the rounds that there is going to be some great battles ahead. Quote Orakei Racer Slow is smooth, smooth is fast!
