Hi silver rocket, have a look in the general discussion section under Grand Re-Opening and you will see the current pics of the tracks. From what i have been told the Anniversary track and the Fast Black track are being moved upstairs and being extended. Two smaller eight lane tracks will take their place downstairs for general hire.I will post updated pics in due course

G'day Silver Rocket

im a club racer at mr SlotCar and i don't believe the above post to be correct

as i have had discussions with Mr SlotCar of a all new track up stairs similar to the "fast black" and Figure 8 type tracks for kids partys ect downstairs

i would say the only ones who know what is going on for the MCN is Mr Slotcar Racer X and Greg C

not customers like Tony and myself who here rumors and old info.

Tony i spoke with Peter V this week about the MCN on Thursday and i think things have changed since you got your old info

im not going to get into a he said she said argument as like i said in my first post

The Only ones who know are the organisers not some racers like ourselves

Thanks

As I said in my post Jason I can only go on the information that was said in front of six other racers at the time of what the plans were going to be and I have not been told anything different. All I am hoping that comes out of it is a successful Nats which I will be competing over the thre days and we get a bloody good track or tracks as a result and out of all the racers there I am the only one who consistently promotes what is happening at our centre and have done so for a number of years and will continue to do so

  • 1 month later...

I was able to see the new 8 lane track last night and its looking good

there is a lot of height changes and the 9 meter straight..... well how do i say it its a corner

well done Brett with the Link

also it does not look like a old 6 lane track extended -_-

Really, looks like a cross between the flat black and fast black, with a slight mutation to me.

9 metre " straight ", how long was the straight on the flat black?

It looks like there is only one straight on the whole track, the short one between the last two corners if the track goes left to right.

Glad I didn't go down a waste my time testing on tracks that weren't going to be used. ;)

I commend everyone involved with the relocation of Mobile Raceways and help in keeping Slotcars alive and well in Melbourne.

To see what Peter and Deb have done, their gutsy determination and obvious upbeat outlook for the future of Slotcar racing in Australia is inspiring.

Embrace this raceway you lucky racers because what has been created here, the Centre, track's and manufacturing facility make it possibly one of the best on the planet.

Mobile Racways Avatar sums it up perfectly.. Mr Slotcar

Totally agree with everything you've said axman.

But unfortunately for me it's near on a 2 hour drive, so to travel all the way over there, especially contending with Friday evening traffic, to practice on a track we won't be racing on, is a waste of time.

If tonyA had of been right, I would of made the trip at least a couple of times, but the people that really knew what was happening told me the new track was going to be ready.

It may mean all my cars will be totally untested going to MCN but that's no different to traveling interstate for a race .

See you there axman.

My discription of the track was not negative in anyway.

Espsix - "my discription of the track was not negative in anyway"

Don't sweat it espsix. nothing you said was negative towards the track. As you say all racers will be in the same boat so it will certainly be a level playing field for all and that cant be a bad thing.

Sorry guys but cant attend, hope you all have a great time.

We finally were able to run on the new track with practice for the MCN

WOW this is Gooood everyone agreed and the curved straight works well as you can see the cars approaching even with the odd slot car gut in the way

seriously

The track flows extremely well from one corner to the next and is a pleasure to drive and being an 8 lane there is a lot of difference between each gutter lane so its a challenge to be fast on all lanes

Well Done Peter and his team of helpers

Will this be Australia's Favorite track?
