How Heavy??

Recommended Posts

I want to do something with my Fly Vipers to make them usable. Probably a chassis in carbon fibre with some brass for weight.

What I'd like to know is what sort of all up weight would be a good starting point for no magnet and MJK or sponge tyres.

Cheers,

My Fly Viper weighs in at 89g - it is still front motored. I would think 95-105g would be a suitable weigh range to start with. With the Ninco JGTC cars that 95-105g range works well for non mag and urethanes.

I have urethane tyres and alloy wheels on the back of the Viper.

Are you planning on moving the motor to the rear?

Thanks for that, gives me a starting point. I have 4 of them, a couple with broken centre bearing mounts.

I'll move the motor to the rear and keep them inline for simplicity and maximum use of existing parts.
