mattcrackers
Track looks like a great drive in the video John, that banked curve sure keeps the speed up, and the slow section looks sweet as well.  Do you have any intention on adding any scenery this time around?.  Looking forward to the next progress pics.  cheers  Matt. Johnsxr8
Thanks Matt. Yeah mate got heaps planned for the scenery. Johnsxr8
Started getting lane changers to work. For those of you who want to know how i made the Scalextric components work when they are designed for 80mm lane space to fit my 120mm. I basically hacked off the section of the sensor board on the left hand side as cutting it here means you only need to solder 2 wires for the section i broke off to work again then i can spread the sensor to suit 120mm same can be done with the Lap time sensors. Johnsxr8
I am having our first racemeet tomorrow night, while there is still far more work to be done it now has enough borders to keep the cars from hitting the floor and all lane changers and lap timing works plus i have all driver stations now functional, so before i complete anymore i think i will get a racemeet or two done to see if i need to fix any issues    Cheers John Edited September 8, 2016 by Johnsxr8 Quote Check out North Brisbane Slotcar Racing: http://northbrisslots.forumotion.com

Johnsxr8
We had a good turnout with 12 guys last night and some races started to be a lot closer than last fortnight, we were also missing at least 2 regulars last night so we had plenty of marshalls for the 6 car races and we also had a guy who didnt race but marshalled in the centre of the track all night which was greatly appreciated by the boys. Here is some footage from the Modern GT B-Final which was a 40 lap race plus being alot of the guys are still getting used to the track so there was still alot of crashes going on. The A-Final which I was in was much less carnage I would have liked to get footage of that but was driving hopefully I can get some good footage of an A-Final soon. Johnsxr8
I was playing some slot cars with my son today and decided to play around with the slow motion on my camera and got some cool footage of him drifting it onto the back straight, I love the controlled slides we get on the wood track. Would also be great to do a slow motion in this section on the first lap of a race. Johnsxr8
We just started our first series on the new track last Friday which was Modern GT and we equalled our best turnout with 17 guys turning up to race and we were missing 1 of the regulars and have 2 more guys interested since then so it will be interesting to see how many turn up at our next Racemeet. I have also got a couple of videos uploaded from Friday   http://youtu.be/G1-WYJhTGuE   http://youtu.be/mHpxzJvI1SQ  Cheers John Quote Check out North Brisbane Slotcar Racing: http://northbrisslots.forumotion.com
Johnsxr8
Just over a week ago we had our first racemeet for the year and also our first Enduro for the year too with it being a 3 Hour Modern GT Enduro. It was a great night as we had 15 guys turn up so we went with 3 drivers per team and ran 5 cars only in the race and pretty much all the cars went the 3 hours with nothing broken so the only time they stopped was when they came into pits for fuel and a driver change with the winning car being a Scalextric Bentley getting 923 laps followed by a Scalextric Mclaren on 900 laps and third was a Scalextric Aston Martin 885laps. Here is some footage taken from the race which also shows some footage from a simulated night part of the race where we turned out most of the lights, and the last 20 seconds shows probably one of the best overtaking moves of the night where I was stuck behind a bunch of 3 cars when I dove into the 3rd lane up the hill and got past all 3 by the time it comes back to 2 lanes.
