Eno the Wonderdog
As far as I can tell Red Racer is the only shop up here so I'm used to that sort of distance to mess about. Am I missing any? Johnsxr8
Some more progress was done over the weekend, the new section still needs more fixing down which will give a much better shape into the banked corner. This banked corner is where the 3 wide section will also finish. Only one more corner to go then onto the 3 wide back straight. miveson
That banked corner looks fantastic. The MDF looks damn thick, 18mm? Can I see grooves that you've cut in to the underside of the track to help with the banking? Â Curious as to what tool you used for that as I need to do some humps on MDF soon (that doesn't sound right but anyways) Quote Slot Car Photos V8 Tipping Competition

Yes you are correct i had to groove the underside as it is 19mm that i had leftover from cutting up the old track i just flipped the pieces over so underneath the banked corner now there is still grass and some slots from the old track in between the grooves i routed to help the flex. It would have been easier to use 12mm and not groove but as i still had 3 large pieces of the old track sitting here so i may aswell save some money and use that. I used a 20mm straight bit for the grooving and i just done them by hand without using a guide. I will take some shots for my next update  Cheers John Edited June 26, 2016 by Johnsxr8 Quote Check out North Brisbane Slotcar Racing: http://northbrisslots.forumotion.com

Johnsxr8
Got to add on another corner today i ran out of the old 19mm so back to 12mm which is easier to work with anyway, i still have to set the banking entering the corner but i will get around to that tomorrow or Monday, then once that is done i can do the back straight and then work my way into the more techincal section in the middle.  Here is a shot of the underside of the 19mm piece that i grooved out underneath to help with banking    And where i am at today Quote Check out North Brisbane Slotcar Racing: http://northbrisslots.forumotion.com

Johnsxr8
More progress was done today with the back straight and the longest straight now all routed, it will get shortened a little bit to accommodate the corner coming onto the straight. Still need alot more supports fitted but will do them during the week. Now to begin the technical middle section over the weekend. Johnsxr8
Yes mate from where the drivers stand you will have a clear view of the cars at the highest point, it looks a lot higher in the photos than what it actually is Edited July 8, 2016 by Johnsxr8 Quote Check out North Brisbane Slotcar Racing: http://northbrisslots.forumotion.com
Johnsxr8
More routing done today, and the technical section is about to begin. The uphill straight leading to the corner that comes onto the back straight needs a Lane changer routed into it and also not much left to go for the 3 lane section before become 2 lanes for the rest of the track. Johnsxr8
Thanks Matt, Â I managed to squeeze a little more time in on the track this morning with some progress now starting to happen in the middle of the track. Johnsxr8
Got some more progress done today with the first part of the technical section now screwed permanently into place and some more routing. The section towards the back straight will be elevated once routing is finished. About 3 more corners to go and some straights and it will be a complete track then i can finish off routing the other lane changers and start bogging ready for painting    Cheers John Quote Check out North Brisbane Slotcar Racing: http://northbrisslots.forumotion.com

Johnsxr8
Almost there, 2 more corners and a small straight to go before its a whole track. Here are some pics of where it is at atm. I haven't routed all the lane changers in yet i will do that once i get the track joined together. There will be 3 XLC's and 2 single changers (1 for pit which is done already and another for the 3rd lane). One of the XLC's is going on the straight that the XBOX Commodore is sitting   Cheers John Quote Check out North Brisbane Slotcar Racing: http://northbrisslots.forumotion.com
Johnsxr8
Another track update i still have 2 more lane changers to rout and i just did a quick mock up of the hill climb this arvo to give me an idea of what it will look like when finished, the shape of the hill climb will look better when i put all the supports underneath it. The last straight in the hill climb has a huge bow in it as the track before it needs to be trimmed more to release the pressure plus half the pieces aren't screwed together properly as you can see by a huge gap between 1 of the boards.
