gazza
Well Round 5 is off and running First up is the Raids, most enjoyed a good run a couple had no grip and a few way overpowered As the cars arrived and were unpacked here before Craig ran his round, the only damage in transit was to the no 10 Bowler, fixed up and readied for action Two different tyre choices for team kiwi ........ but only one worked Some of the action ........ Oooops sorry, wrong photo .... kalbfellp
Wow, thougjt you guys would have needed a break, it has been very busy for you. Surprised with the kids Pajero, as it was not very good on you track last year. NBI what they did to it. I agree about Mivesons, it is good to drive. charlesx
Hi Gazza. Great start to your round. Is there a competition to see who can run the fastest round or are you trying to run the sheep out of breath. Nothing special about my Bowler as far as I am aware but has certainly performed above my expectations. One can only assume I have learnt something from early efforts with Subaru and Ford RS200. If only I knew what. Keep up the good work. Regards Chas Le Breton
gazza
Second and final stage for the Raids ...... Disaster for Phil's Pajero with the engine "popping out" half way thought his stage, glued back in and running sweet again Stage two results Round 5 Raid final results Congrats to the podiumites, very close at the end but the Bowler of Charles was just too good on the day, great fun to drive Quote Quickly read this post before it is deleted or i turn grey again Gary http://www.facebook.com/Rallyproxy2017
charlesx
Hi all. Oh well every dog has its day. Two in a row is even better. Man those sheep must be getting tired. teamredracing
Going to show Gaz how to drive my VW. From my round to this , I think he couldnt find 5th gear. Just watched and cried . Funny though , same painted surface but different outcome. Tyres just did not work. Ben_M
They needed a good clean to work here as well. What tyres are they? Quote Some slot (and MTB) vids NOW SHOWING
gazza
They needed a good clean to work here as well. What tyres are they? They are the standard Ninco ones that came with the VW After cleaning they were good for 2 or 3 laps the it slowly started sliding, after that it was easy on the throttle, and it ran mid pack so it wasn't the "track cleaner" Quote Quickly read this post before it is deleted or i turn grey again Gary http://www.facebook.com/Rallyproxy2017
gazza
WRC stage 1 results and photos ..... Mivesons Focus, fresh from it's domination at Craig's, came out of the gate like a rocket, but after a couple of laps it started slowing down, quick stop and visual check found nothing wrong, continued to the end with it still slowing, inspection after the stage showed that the plastic crown was slipping on the axle to one side and binding against the bearing (see below), emergency repairs were done with some superglue applied to both sides of the crown, A Slot-it type crown will fix this, something to remember for future setups. Charles your Subaru is so noisy, i've thrown bags full of cats into creeks that made less noise, but it's still going and going well, so you've gotta be happy with that. Some of the others just couldn't get enough grip, some had clearance issues plus the "hairpin" played it's part with most of the cars as well Results for Round 5 Stage 1 Stage 2 results up tomorrow Quote Quickly read this post before it is deleted or i turn grey again Gary http://www.facebook.com/Rallyproxy2017
miveson
Thanks for the repairs - damn plastic gears.... .... sigh, huff, puff, moan, whinge - hopefully on stage 2 I can make up a few places. My dreams of a top 3 WRC finish are shattered. There are 20 hosts this year aren't there!!!!!!!!! Next year I'll be running all slot.it or equivalent gear........ kalbfellp
More bloody crap from the Granddaughter today! Thanks Gazza great pics as usual all the time and effort is much appreciated. Charles still being annoying like a terrier nipping at your heels. Also another strong finish from Flipper, starting to make a late run. Glad that Marks preparation showed in Stsge 1LOL Edited January 28, 2016 by kalbfellp Quote Phil https://www.hobartminiaturecarclub.com/ Email
charlesx
Thanks for the great round and photos. Congrats to podiumites and all helpers. Always good to see the cars in action. Certainly looks like they were driven to limit unless you are tricking us with your photo prowess. Note noisy Subaru. Good to see car going well still/again after disasterous Minto jaunt where Ninco Hop ruined cars chances. Is it the surface that is so different or what? Re gear sounds like Lenny Broke's fix from about 3 years back may be finally failing. Is it the same that happened to Miveson in stage one. Car still has all the original gear which after 5 years is pretty good. Nothing wrong with original plastic gears as long as they do not slip across shaft. Can you check please if you have time. Would be a pity to see car fail altogether. Regards Chas Le Breton (charlesx)
miveson
Thanks for running the round which is ticking along so nice. Series results updated for the WRC round. Consistency appears to be the key to maintaining a podium placing. I was sure I posted up the Raid series points... can't find them for some reason.
