Mid pack again for me...

Fairly happy with that...

Hopefully this SRP 16k makes the distance... (Damn Fly 18k last year)

The WRC section has been completed.

Stage%201%20Results_zpsuct0t5rl.jpg

The Grandkids car from last year just headed Charles Subaru and my Pug finished third ahead of OTFS C4.

Stage 2 still resulted is a Charles sandwich but the twi Ninco Pugs swapped positions with my similar car proving better in this direction.

Stage%202%20Results_zps0ymuyzj1.jpg

The Round total time revealed 3 cars in very close times.

Round%201%20Results_zpsneurt1bf.jpg

IMG_2677_zpsyizroufd.jpg

I think this year WRC field is the closest we have had. Craigs and Gazza cars were a little lover powered and twitchy on this track, but I think they will clear out on some of the opther tracks. Gas41t was a little slippery thru the quarry section.

The rest of the field all were close. I think Charles car was probably the best car to drive. With times are so close, should make this a great close series.

The top 3 carsand Cures SCX were the only ones with no offs, they would bounce off the scenery and stay in the slot.

Hi Phil.

Thanks for the great start to this years OZ Rally.

See we had a good battle for those podium positions between yourself, the Grandkids and self. Will be interesting to see how they go for the rest of the rounds. Congrats on your win.

With a 2nd in WRC, 5th in RAID and I think 11th in Historic am pretty happy with overall result.

Looking forward to next round. Many thanks to you and the others that made this round a success.

Would be of interest to see some photos of track particularly as used for RAID trucks. What were the extra obstacles?

Regards Chas Le Breton

Hi Shadow_Rusty.

What configuration did your Historic car end up in this year. Is it back to all Scalextric or a new car. Mine is the same except for a little more weight. Still has the Scaly Slimline motor.

Mine is the same as last year, except with a SRP 16k (regretting not putting back the scaley 18k), and new MJK's...

Have you tried changing the gearing on the FF-050 motor?

8/27 works quite well on the Torana's to tame them down, and as a bonus, it also adds some brakes...

AquaKiwi's MG is just lacking grip.

And Clarity :D :D

And I thought it was the speed it was doing, MJK,s of some description Phil.

Hi again Shadow_Rusty.

Thanks for info' on your car. Did think of changing my motor to SRP but thought too much trouble as a real squeeze. I used SRP Slimline in my modified Bugeye Sprite a couple of years ago in Canada/USA and was really impressed.

Gearing is still as originally built 10:34. Your 8:27 is about the same (3.4:1 compared to 3.375:1). I thought the brakes were OK unless little extra weight I added this year has tipped balance.

What weight is yours. Mine was originally about 99gms in 2013, 104gms last year and now about 107-108.

Best of luck for next round. Looks like I can still claim highest placed all Scaly car (except gears, rear wheels.and MJK tyres.

Charles I did not want to do much this year for the Raids so just added a 3mm Wooden bridge over the existing bridge.

Bridge_zpsdc7pqnlm.jpg

and a hump bridge near one of the corners.

Here is some of the action from the WRC cars.

IMG_2695_zpsvhlaidha.jpg

My recycled Smallnails Pug.

IMG_2697_zpslb78fxgn.jpg

Charles's Subaru back again, better than ever, just shows how continued tuning works well.

IMG_2698_zpsgkdyylnm.jpg

Cure's SCX citreon back again,I felt this car has improved a little more this year.

IMG_2699_zpsfdjojfut.jpg

BenM C4 nice car and easy to drive.

IMG_2700_zpsiqlelcp1.jpg

Peter Gunns Avant Subaru very lively car, fast But a bit hard to drive here.

IMG_2704_zpsrbiagtef.jpg

Gas41T C4 smooth just a little slipper and hit the scenery a couple of times.

IMG_2705_zps9jvj5kd5.jpg

Mivesons Focus smooth easy to drive.

IMG_2706_zpsixzi7vow.jpg

Gazzas Fiesta fast but hard to drive smoothly.

34_zpsxe9wtsh7.jpg

OTFS C4 that fast down the straight it was hard to " Focus" and it blew the Race number off the roof.

IMG_2696_zpskrm4szer.jpg

Kids Pug back again. New tyres and some weight changes.

36_zpsr1cqrc3o.jpg

Team Red's Citreon, fast but like Gazza's a bit hard to drive smooth on this track, both these SCX should be fast in the final round on the Shelmore Hillclimb.

Hi Shadow_Rusty.

Mine has different guide too - Ninco sprung I think. I saw Scaly motor as essential as was told totally unsuitable as was total car. Your original 18000 motor was even better.

Will probably enter Scaly car in WRC next year although Ninco Subaru hard to let go. See we have Scaly Escort in Historic as well.

Like to enter car that is close to scale although some think this is irrelevant. All just my own little challenge.

Hi Phil.

Thanks for that. Thought you had done much more. I was wondering how my RAID would go over big bumps - reason I retained suspension. Perhaps other tracks will be harder test.
