What brand of Arduino ?

I bought a couple of Sainsmart Mega 2560 boards - supposedly the best of the clones - - no-go.

The seller on EBay was so convinced it must be an individual board fault he sent another FOC.

Same problems..... just goes to show, not all 'clones' are created equal.

There are some very good " generic" boards around.

Yours sounds genuine though.

Are you sure you have the right port selected in RC.

Check in devices to see where the board is connected.

The Sketch error shows when the wrong port is selected or the PC cannot see the board.

What version windows are you using?

Are you using the same USB cable.?

If the sketch is uploading the PC must be seeing the board.

If the PC is not seeing the board you most likley need to load the driver for the USB chip

The CH 341.driver has worked on all the generic boards I have used.

win10 and device manager shows the uno as on com5, i installed the sktech and the TX light is now flashing. load RC, goto the track setup and configure the ardunio, then the TX led goes out, "L" led stays on, and then the 1.0.0.7 error... then the uno freezers and the only way to get it back is to unplug it etc

Sorry Ian I have only tried RC on Win 10 for a brief period as a test.

I have found that Win 10 seems to vary from one download to another.

I have it running on a laptop and Corel runs fine, but on my PC The same version of Corel would not run.

I would try Win 7 or 8 and see if sorts the problem.
