kalbfellp
Maybe V8 Supercars can stuff the broadcast of this event like they have with the V8's by selling the rights to Fox and Ten. At present Seven have the rights for this year for the 12 hr. Quote Phil https://www.hobartminiaturecarclub.com/ Email

shadow_rusty
I haven't really enjoyed V8's since it became Australian Nascar, oops, I mean V8 SuperCarp... I have however, been really enjoying the GT3 style catagory, and not just in Australia, but arround the world... Last years 12 hour was a great event that with 5 laps to go, could have been won by 4 different makes of car. kalbfellp
Yes I agree Ian, I wonder how many viewers they have a lost from these events. Probably don't care as the organisers end up with more money for the rights, BUT in the long term in may see a decline it interest. Dreamer
Yep - don't have fox and highlights to late so more time for slots. V8's are beginning to take a back seat here in favour of Gt, Group 5 and TCM
Ember
Don't see the F1 or V8SC anymore because most is on PayTV. I can't help but feel there's a bit of jealousy on behalf of the V8SC Powers that someone else has a successful series with growing numbers of followers. F1, the supposed elite of motorsport, is losing following because of it essentially becoming a high speed procession. There is a gap that GT3 had started to fill. Someone will work out there's money to make and ring it for whag it's worth too. Quote Computers. They'll never catch on. KarKraft
Same thing happened to the World Endurance Championship. It had a good following, and plenty of manufacturer involvement. Bernie Ecclestone saw it as a threat to F1, so he became the promoter and it died. Quote Fairmont Park
Vinno
I have pay TV and rarely watch the V8's as there is just too much of the same thing. Happy to watch Bathurst but the rest is too much, all weekend I have better things to do. I really used to enjoy watching years ago when they would show Sport Sedans, F Fords, Superbikes and whatever else was on it. Now it is too clinical with V8 Supercars all heavily regulated to be identical, V8 Utes similarly regulated and those buzz box things with bike engines and replica scale V8 bodies. It's just too much of the same for a whole weekend. F1 I watch because of Ricciardo but it is also becoming boring. At least qualifying is over fast and the race goes for 2 hours max in the night. I have however turned that off after 10 laps if it looks crap too. Went to Bathurst in February for the GT's and it was great although some of the drivers less than professional. At least it isn't overly regulated yet. Muscle cars are my favourite is but maybe this shows my age.
