Slider
Hi Rene i hope this helps its very basic but im giving it a go so far its ok .  http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a223/slider43/100_8190.jpg  http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a223/slider43/100_8191.jpg  http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a223/slider43/100_8192.jpg  http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a223/slider43/100_8193.jpg  http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a223/slider43/100_8194.jpg  http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a223/slider43/100_8195.jpg  http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a223/slider43/100_8196.jpg  The rod in the middle slides up and down when it is down i will put a building over it so it can,t be seen . the legs fold up , and the eletric winch pulls it up into the roof of shed and then i lock it in place with the chains on the main beam . and on the far end i have another chain to stabilize the table . i have to lower it by hand which is a bit harder then i would like but im looking at maybe a bigger handle . i hope i have covered it all Cheers Peter

Slider
Hi Phil I know for a fact that the table weights in at 100 kg then there is the steel frame you can see underneath which supports the table and centre lift pole i dont know how much it weights at a guess in would be 20 kg then the track and cars etc . the boat winch i am using is a GMC . it says not ti use as a hoist . it works of a 12 volt power supply , Rolling capacity 2700kg max boat weight 2250 kg pulling capacity 900 kg cable length 9m  maybe im pushing my luck i dont know it all seems ok so far and once it is up it is well supported and the weight taken off the winch . if i can be of any more help or you or your mate are up launceston way feel free to drop in and check it out . Slider
Finally got round to doing a bit on the new Sliderpark Raceway my hat is off to all you guys that have or a going to build a Routed Track . i have been in the shed all day today working on my track what i wanted and what i have is two different things ,not that it,s unusual for that to happen . i have all the straights routed now to do the corners the track is 16 ft long by 8 ft wide 4 lane,s 100mm spacing between tracks and 120 on outside and 85 inside new track  not a hard track but should be a good flowing track will be a bit of elevation and of course some scenery no tight corners so hopefully a fair bit of speed , Also a learning curve for me . Cheers Slider Edited January 26, 2007 by Slider
oldslot
sounds great Slider I am in the process of building one that's 21'x 7'10" three lane routed. I started the other way and am doing the corners first I figured it would be easier to match up the straights to the corners that way.but we will see. one day I'll figure out how to post piccy's Yeah I know I'm a dumb old "B" Â what I did was build a 1/10 scale model out of ply first gives you a good perspective of what the finished track will look like. keeps me off the streets Viv
itelectrical
Looks good so far Pete ! Â Viv, I've never heard of anyone building a scale model of a slot car track, but it is a good idea, that way you can get it all looking right before you start on the real thing. That 1:320 scale track would make AFX tracks look huge !! Quote JamieB ITeLECTRICAL Â Â Check out my Current Auctions
Slider
Thanks Jamie Thanks Viv a scale model would have been a great idea it would have made it a lot easyier , This is not what i originally wanted but the way its done i can add to it later if i wish also i can change the shape if need be , i have used this as a learning curve so when i decide to do it again i can use the bits that i have it,s kinda modular if that makes any sence . Anyhow cheers Slider
hoffy
Looks good slider. Nice & neat. Â I must admit, I did a scale replica out of cardboard before I built mine. That made it so much easier to determine whether I would like it or not

kalbfellp
Pete: Great start! It is actually easier to do the corners first, that way if you make a slight mistake it can easily be fixed by tapering the straights. But you are going well.  I started my new track back in April and have only just finished the routing!  Phil Quote Phil  https://www.hobartminiaturecarclub.com/  Email

pmc356
Slider - Track looks really good. My plan for the 3 laner I want to build is very similar so I will be really interested to see how the track comes along. I like the idea of a fast flowing track that has a bit for everyone.
