Cars For The 2015 Group 5 Proxy Series

Hi Guys, please post pix of your Group 5 car in this thread. If you are not able to then I will do it as part of the tech check.

A good top shot with the body off and some brief details on the list of important parts like motor, gears, tyres and weight will be very helpful.

This is to help others work out what is good to run and will become a teaching excercise to help get others up to play.

There is no intenion of showing any secrets or special tricks, it is purely just to help others to get the best out of there cars.

It is not what you can see but what you can't see that also makes a car go well so don't feel that you might loose any advantage by doing this.

"If we don't help our fellow races, we may not have any one to race with in 2 years time" is one of my favourite quotes.

This will also go a long way to stopping the 'nosey parker' from opening up cars to see why they run the way they do and really help to make future proxy racing even better.

Thank You Guys - Dave.

ps, even though I won't be running next yeras Proxy Races, THEY WILL STILL HAPPEN so please 'carry on rewardless' Proxies in 2016 will be all go!!!

Here's my M1 from last year but now set up for Class B with Slot-it 21.5, 11-34, Super grips (5212's) and weighs 86 grams.

I wasn't happy with the speed it didn't have so I set it up with a Slot-it motor (since found the 20k Shark was actually 18.2k)

The body screws are glued in place as no one needs to open it up now that pix are here for display, plus they kept working loose.

My B Class car

Has slot it brown motor

Nsr 12/32 gearing

Standard front tyres & rims

Nsr rear tyres & rims

Weight is 93.8grms

It was my last years car pulled the 25k motor

Out an put the slower rpm motor in & changed gearing it's as fast as the old setup now on my track

Hey Rossko, might pay to check with Dave West, but I think sidewinder gearing for B Class should be 11:32, 11:33, 11:34 or 12:36.

Hope I'm not the bearer of bad news.

Wobble is right - chalk 1 up for Wobble.

Having a 21.5k on 12 tooth would make it very fast on the long starights and also have less brakes.

(although to me it looks like an 11 tooth in the picky going by the gaps in the teeth)

If using an NSR or Slot-it motor the gear ratio must be between 2.888 and 3.111.

In line 9-26=2.888, 9-27=3.000, 9-28=3.111

Side winder 11-32=2.909, 11-33=3.000, 11-34=3.090

Angle winder 10-29=2.9, 10-30=3.0, 11-32=2.909, 11-34=3.090

If using the yellow Flat 6 motor, the gears must be either the stock 11 (brass) and 28 (yellow) for an angle winder or 9-24 for an in-line set up.
