David Carter
this is the car that I am working on at the moment it will be racing in my clubs classic nascar/stockers the rules for this class state that it has to have max 18k motor and max 9mm width tyres given that this is a big car and still near perfect to scale I decided to try setting it up as a long can side winder motor - 17k nsr baby king 8mm witdth rims fitted with F22's nsr gears ninco pro race guide custom chassis just some of the parts I used I used a slot-it motor pod trimmed up and sections of a scaly lmp chassis for bushing holders once it was all glued up and the finish trimming done I cut the rear chassis section out of a slot-it display case { I find these very good for this } and then trimmed the front part from a ninco Lambo lighting chassis glued together and then braced it all with 1.5mm brass rod once that was all dry I then set up the front axle by fitting slot-it's replacement brass bushes then fitted it all together so now have a running chassis but still need to sort out the rear section for some body mounts and lift it up so you couldn't so it so much due to the height of the body behind the rear wheel arches body fitted now that the body is fitted and it has had a few test laps and all is good and running smooth it is onto the interior will update once that is done cheers Edited April 5, 2015 by David Carter Quote Holdens rule the rest just drool slot cars are my drug, ATCC/Bathurst proxy host NZ Grp5 proxy host. Wobble
Wow. Ready for racing and breaking. Now that's gonna break a few cars (and a few hearts) when it hangs its tail out on a curve. Probably take the outside 2 lanes out at the same time. Good job Mate. Actually better than good. David Carter
some of you may remember this car I built a few years back after racing it in club for a while it got put aside this car was very quick and unbeatable in my clubs Nascar class much to the disgust of the other guy's I set this car up as a long can sidewinder just as a experiment. it got robbed for parts but I have always wanted to get this car back on the track so I have spent the past few day's playing around with it it now has a different set up so it will hopefully be more inline with the other club cars in terms of performance and speed it now has 18k scaly motor in S/W standard scaly axle and gears in the rear slot it front axle and bushes ninco prorace guide slot it rims fitted with PG tyres the new wheels/tyres have a better scale appearance and look so much better than the earlier ones she is untested at this stage but should run fine Edited April 23, 2019 by David Carter 1 Quote Holdens rule the rest just drool slot cars are my drug, ATCC/Bathurst proxy host NZ Grp5 proxy host.
