Rhythm Willie
Is this the future of slotcar manufacture? There could be a time where you just purchase a programme (or design your own) and print your slotcar at home. Should be able to print the chassis and the body, then attach some running gear. Here's one example - http://www.scruthetrack.com/plastic-car-racing.html
Rhyse_the_Wombat
That would be a sick class clubs could run, every body prints out their design and builds it up from there. One thing though is every body needs a 3D printer or the club could have one every body uses. the ideas... Kind Regards the_Wombat
kalbfellp
The future of printed chassis is here,BUT having built up two they still need a bit more development. Even Shapeways printing varies a little, the two I got both needed some work for every thing to fit properly. BUT this may have been too fine a tolerance in the design. Bodies can be printed BUT they have to be thick to print properly, but are good for making masters for casting. Another couple of years will probably see a lot more development, just look at how far prices of basic printer has dropped. 32coupe
There is a guy here in Canberra who has printed a chassis for a Carrera with a Slot.it pod. Still in the development stage, but very promising. Quote A man without a woman is like a neck without a pain.
shadow_rusty
Whilst it's not a 3d printed chassis, I thought this laser cut chassis was pretty cool... https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/110015207/laser-cut-scalextric-slot-car-chassis?ref=market Quote Stolen from SlotsNZ Team ABC Team Leader (Ambitious, But Crap) Home Track Threads - Shadow's Semi-Permanent Layout & Another Rug Racer & Proud of It & Gymkhana Test Track Car Collection Thread - My Car Collection Charts / Diagrams - MJK Tyre Selector / Slot.it 4wd Gearing / PoliCar Rollout / Rollout Chart Generator / SCX 4wd Rollout / Track Wiring with Brake on Track Call
Garry J
Only slightly over engineered. Looks like you could run over it with a truck and not damage it. Quote Cheers, Garry J Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill
