3D Printed Slotcar Chassis

Is this the future of slotcar manufacture?

There could be a time where you just purchase a programme (or design your own) and print your slotcar at home.

Should be able to print the chassis and the body, then attach some running gear.

Here's one example -

The future of printed chassis is here,BUT having built up two they still need a bit more development.

Even Shapeways printing varies a little, the two I got both needed some work for every thing to fit properly.

BUT this may have been too fine a tolerance in the design.

Bodies can be printed BUT they have to be thick to print properly, but are good for making masters for casting.

Another couple of years will probably see a lot more development, just look at how far prices of basic printer has dropped.

Whilst it's not a 3d printed chassis, I thought this laser cut chassis was pretty cool...
