drw21
HI Guys, here are the official Qualifying results for Race 2. Some cars went quicker than in they did for Race 1 and some didn’t. Some cars are showing signs of tyre wear from Race 1 and that shows up in the qualifying results tonight. The track has been washed from any previous racing to give us a good clean start for qualifying for race 2. The qualifying driver was Kevin West who is very capable with any RTR car on this track. 1st Orakei Racer Matra A 4.282 Very smooth and well balanced. 2nd DRW21 917K A 4.289 Stable with good speed but has limits. 3rd Drew 2E A 4.372 A bit tippy under power but very smooth. 4th DrSpeed Alfa 33/3 B 4.419 Handles well but rear end snaps out at limit. 5th BossMan M8D B 4.453 Stable and smooth, showing signs of tyre wear. 6th ChopperGav M8D B 4.464 Stable but lots of grip, gets a bit bouncy when pushed. 7th Tony Cook 917K A 4.483 Stable but not enough grip when pushed. 8th Alfahorn 917K A 4.484 A little bit bouncy. Otherwise a great runner. 9th SlotsNZ M8D A 4.524 Stable but loose under power. More weight should help. 10th SPUD T70 A 4.539 More brakes would help. 11th R32Pilot M20 A 4.542 Great flow and very stable at this pace. 12th Branco 917K A 4.559 Smooth with good grip. 13th AquaKiwi Ferrari 612 A 4.560 Very smooth, great flow, can be a bit tippy when pushed. 14th Gas41T M8D A 4.597 Tyres chewing on edges causing loss of grip under power. 15th Slotmadmac T70 B 4.669 Front wheels are wobbly causing some shudder. 16th AuntyEllis Ferrari 350 A 4.688 Smooth, could do with a bit more brakes. 17th Wobble T70 B 4.712 Has real potential but a bit bouncy under power. 18th LordBobCup M6A A 4.729 Smooth and easy to drive. 19th Alexis in Greece Ferrari 512S A 4.729 Bouncy on limit but otherwise good flow and speed. 20nd SQWRT T70 B 4.743 Front wheels causing rattles that unsettle car in corners. 21st Nitro0440 2E B 4.767 Loose under power and a bit tippy. 22nd Chenglaw Lola 310 A 4.918 Good power and brakes, not much grip. 23rd CharlesX M6A B 4.925 Lots of brakes and very smooth. Can tip or jump out of slot unexpectedly. 24th Keith Wells M8D A 4.949 Needs more weight to hold it down and lower gears to smoothen power output. There ya go guys, The Race is this SUNDAY at 10-15 am. All the best guys - Dave.
nitro0440
Nice job with qualifying , looks like a mixed bag of problems with cars , i guess a different driving style brings out different faults in a car ... Will be interesting to see if similar faults follow cars throughout the series as they go from track to track ... Race 2 should be just as interesting as race 1 .. Good luck guys . Wobble
Thanks for the qualifying run lads. Has real potential but ... I should've had it tuned by a slot racer and not the local music shop.

charlesx
Thanks for good run. At least I am in touch with field instead of way out back door. Remember this car is only 53mm wide so it does need a different approach to most other cars. Good luck to all for racing. Wobble
In my books the perfect slot car would have a Lola T70 body but I'm danged if I know what chassis it would have. Certainly not a Scaley GT40 underpan. Good luck today guys. Edited April 25, 2015 by Wobble

drw21
It was another great day of racing. The track was good as most cars improved on there qualifying times. Only one crash bad enough to cause any damage, one car de-slotted and the M8 of SlotsNZ ran into it, it all happened so quick that no one had enough time to avoid a collision. I will glue the body on your M8 Mark, nothing too bad, just a crack across the right front 1/4. I will get on to the overall points over the next few days and post that asap. Thanks guys for letting us drive these really cool CanAm cars - Dave Edited April 26, 2015 by drw21

I'm impressed with the 95 laps you managed to churn out of my car and a year ago that would have put me in 8th place. The class of the cars this year is right up there. Well done all.
