UPDATE TRACK REFURB IN ACTION

I've taped the braid now to give it a quick clean then fill the screw holes then a nice thick coat of clear , I'm going for more of a semi gloss surface

 

Braid covered ready for paint

 

Now with a fresh lick of paint

 

So I just now had a feel of the track and I'm thinking I might do another coat ... mmmmm

 

Well the paint I used was a giggle when I opened the tin to my amazement the clear paint isn't clear it's a soft pink colour anyways this is it

 

 

Can't wait to try this new surface out

Should dry clear. Will be faster and not quite so abrasive. Good for the proxy coming up. 😁

Water based?

 

I was told to use oil based paint.
