GAS41T
Is that the pre taped braid? If it is, how was it to lay?. Yes it's the pre taped It is very easy to lay that is for sure I found you keep it low when laying it With it relaxed not pulled tight 😀 Edited December 30, 2014 by GAS41T

kalbfellp
Looking at these pics and after talking to Espsix over the weekend I thought it might be interesting to compare the Suede Effect rollered compared to brushing it on. I brushed the Rally track, but wanted a different finish on the Hillclimb track so used small roller. Rollering gives a very similar texture but the surface looks much different. Just an interesting comparison. Edited December 30, 2014 by kalbfellp Quote Phil https://www.hobartminiaturecarclub.com/ Email
espsix
Both look good. The brushed looks like " old road ", and the rollered looks like " new bitumen ". The copper tape looks like crap though Phil.
kalbfellp
Brett the tape is crap, brought several rolls from China,it is not very good. Needs replacing after 12 months, probably go with braid. You can now see the difference in finish. dangermouse
Pondering why you put a coat of clear coat over the suede..wouldn't this change the texture of the suede - make it more like a gloss surface? I haven't clear coated mine and find grip fine for all tyres except silicones - it does get dusty (I don't know if that is the suede paint or dust in the air -it needs a wipe down with a damp cloth every now and then to maximise the grip levels wonder if clear coat would give a better result Edited March 30, 2015 by dangermouse
GAS41T
Dangermouse We race on ferrador with one coat of cabots clear water base it seals an is easy to clean
Ember
DM, my suede has a very thin coat of clear over it in most places and quite tick over the "concrete" flyover. It does allow it to pick up tyre marks. Quote Computers. They'll never catch on. teamredracing
Hey Danger . Happy New year to you all. My road circuit is suede with 1 thin coat of Cabots . The texture is still there and I must admit , it is easier to clean. Have no probs with all tyres , never run silicones and dont want to temp fate. I brushed mine on only brushing one way . You could try one setion and see what it does . Mine also has tyre marks through it . Ember
I actually used an untainted base rather than a clear because I wanted a flat finish. Quote Computers. They'll never catch on. kalbfellp
I used Cabots oil based with no problems over the saude effect, on the repaired section of my road track. Quote Phil https://www.hobartminiaturecarclub.com/ Email
GAS41T
Cabots do a matt finish so that's What I used 😀
