shadow_rusty
That would so work well done the same way as Pioneer's "Lady Luck" and "Ace of Spades"... Also, a little bit rough would actually be a benefit then... PS. Looking great... Well done. Wobble
Yeah, I go along with shadow_rusty on the paint job. A real nice paint job would look cool but your racing buddy's are going to treat it like armco barrier when they're trying to pass it on the inside of a curve. Real nice job though, looks too cool. Just love tanks with big tail fins. Edited December 15, 2014 by Wobble
Capri-corn7
Was tempted to rat it but have gone with a bit of colour. And now sporting lovely inserts thanks to Munter. Decals have been a complete disaster - they came on a colour background and trimming them lost all edge definition. Will source new and redo. Once it's clear coated I'll add in the behemoth screens. Dave running gear is std. Revell chassis. Did lay over motor to get body down a little... Chassis tyres not worked yet but still nice to see it tootle round the track. & Wobble it's too wide to pass Edited January 13, 2015 by Capri-corn7 1 Quote They are only toys .... until you pull the trigger. rosco01
Great work - it is always encouraging to see people take to off the shelf models and "create" the unobtainable. I suppose, it depends on what you want most from this hobby - racing or modeling..... guess we enjoy both in builds like this. frats, Rosco
munter
Nice Pat...it is coming to a very cool conclusion. Glad the inserts worked out. Could be a contender. Quote John Warren Slotcars are my preferred reality

Capri-corn7
Thanks guys. It's nice when an idea in your head pans out ok... It wasn't too much effort as it lined up pretty well. Only think I wished I'd let the Tamiya putty harden a bit longer before painting as it's sunk a little. But hey hope to race it so I'm sure that will be the least of it's worries... Decals came off easy so just need to sit by the mail box to wait for the next lot. Quote They are only toys .... until you pull the trigger. Ember
Great work. Definitely worth trying the Tamiya Light Curing Putty. It doesn't shrink and it doesn't take anywhere near as long to cure either. Sands well too. Quote Computers. They'll never catch on. David Carter
The sinking more to do with that the putty is porous and the plastic isn't You need to prime and and sand the putty area's and repeat if needed then prime and sand the whole body But as you say you are going to race it so will see a few smashes Quote Holdens rule the rest just drool slot cars are my drug, ATCC/Bathurst proxy host NZ Grp5 proxy host. Capri-corn7
Definitely worth trying the Tamiya Light Curing Putty. Thanks will definitely give this a try. But as you say you are going to race it so will see a few smashes Yeah I cant see that front grill+bumper lasting one heat - ahh well So the decals finally arrived and i finally got around to sliding them on. Tried Patto's waterslides - very impressed. Crisp printing and easily positionalble. A few coats of future to protect and we'll see how long they last in battle. Just the glazing and a little finishing to go... Quote They are only toys .... until you pull the trigger.
slotbaker
Good looking beast. If the front bumper does escape, stick it back on with a couple of dabs of silicone. Being a bit flexible, tends to absorb a lot of the punishment. You could even put a dab or two on it before you go to battle. Quote Steve K. shadow_rusty
I've been using contact adhesive on a lot of my detail parts for the same reason... It's flexable. ps. That looks tough... Capri-corn7
Thanks guys - Maybe silicone will be a good solution, or just avoid the carnage... & yes waytofast next project is all lined up.... decidedly smaller next time round... Capri-corn7
Finally got it's first shake down on a real track last night at SlotsNZ.
