Scale Auto Rule Amendments Discussion For June 2014

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

As provided for at the end of 2013 when we agreed the current regulations for 2014, we now have a chance to make certain amendments and clarifications to our rules. These amendments and clarifications will be incorporated into the 2014 regulations as at the end of June. Thereafter the regulations will again be locked until we get another chance as provided for, at the end of September. This is what we had agreed - quoted from the regulations:

THESE REGULATIONS ARE NOW LOCKED FOR 2014. THE ONLY CHANGES FROM NOW ON WILL BE WHEN NEWLY RELEASED CARS HAVE BEEN PARITY TESTED FOR INCLUSION IN THESE REGULATIONS OR WHEN ANY SPECIFIC PART IS REPLACED BY SCALE AUTO WITHOUT NOTICE. THESE AMMENDMENTS (if required) WILL ONLY TAKE PLACE AT THE END OF MARCH, JUNE AND SEPTEMBER 2014. THESE TYPES OF CHANGES WILL ALWAYS BE SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF CARS AND PARTS TO EVERYONE RACING IN AUSTRALIA - AVAILABILITY ON THE WWW WILL BE CONSIDERED ACCEPTABLE.

There are two such points at the moment that need to be mentioned, one of which may require some clarification in our current rule set:

- The Viper has been released, BUT we are not in a position to properly test it as Scale Auto has not released the lexan interior and window set as yet. This will mean that whilst anyone buying one of these beauties may obviously race it at club level, the inclusion of the Viper in our national rule set will have to wait until the end of September for inclusion from October 1st only.

- The next is applicable to the 'bling' chassis where the Scale Auto logo and imprint has been screen printed onto the bottom of the main chassis plate - as per regulation 1.1.3(e) 'this logo must at all times remain visible to technical control'. It has been suggested that anyone intending to enter with one of these chassis and being concerned about the logo possibly becoming invisible (perhaps being wiped away with solvent) attach clear tape over the logo (as we sometimes have to do with motors identification in other classes). This will ensure the logo being preserved and protected against possible damage or deletion, making sure the chassis will pass scrutineering.

Thank you for your participation in this process of ensuring our rules are agreed between all of us and not allowing changes at any time or at the whim of some organiser or participant at an event, or just before and event without due notice.

This discussion will be closed at the end of June 2014.

Cheers,

Jan

Hi guys,

Thanks for your consideration. As we have had no objection to the suggested amendment as outlined in the previous post, it will now be included on our ruleset for future use.

This particular thread will now be closed.

Cheers,

Jan
