Another great night of racing at Mobile Raceways and again there was some very close racing with 2 laps seperating the first 4 cars in Scalextric GT.Slot It Group C was held on the new Anniversary Track and provided some carnage as everyone got used to the new track which is an absolute blast to race on and for those people that rated the Flat Black track after last year's Scale Nats as one of the best scale tracks in the country well the Anniversary Track raises the bar even higher as in my 40+ years of racing i would rate it as the best flat track that i have raced on.

Last night saw more of the fantastic close racing that has been happening of the last few months.Despite the carnage in Scalextric GT the winning margin was only a couple of metres and only a couple of laps separated third to fifth! The pace has picked up in Slot It Group C with a number of cars dipping into the mid 7 seconds range and again only a handful of laps separated the top five drivers. Flexi GT1 on the Anniversary track was fast and furious as drivers start to get the hang of the new track. The downhill eases after the high speed sweeper continues to catch people out and makes for a challenging part of the track that can win or lose a race.

Last night's racing was red hot again with more close racing across all three classes. Scalextric gt saw the usual carnage at times but some hot racing at the front with the winning margin being only a lap.Slot.it Group C has developed into an extremely competitive class now and is also seeing winning margins of only a lap. Flexi GT1 running on the anniversary track has also been close but we need more entries.

Another great night of fast and furious racing last night.Close racing with the usual carnage in Scalextric Gt with wings flying off and wheels falling off and 8 laps seperating the first 4 cars at the finish of another round robin.Similar sort of result in Slot.It Group C with a major pile up under the bridge in the last bracket changing the results for the minor positions.Flexis on the Anniversary Track ended up being a two carce with two laps seperating first and second and daylight to the rest. What made the race more of a challenge was that the track was lengthened by four metres with the front straight lengthened by tw metres and now there is a two metre straight after turn one before dipping under the first bridge.

Well despite the inclement weather in Melbourne yesterday we had a good turn up for racing last night.Kicking off the night was Slot.It Group C with 8 entries and what a cracker of a race it turned out to be with 3/4 of a lap between first and second, two laps back to third a further 3 laps back to fourth and another lap back to fifth then daylight to the rest of the field. Scalextric GT with a breakout of 7.6 seconds was next with 13 entries and another hot race with second, third and fourth all on the same lap two laps behind the winner, fifth was a further lap back and another five laps back to sixth then daylight to the rest of the field.Sealed 16d Flexi GT1 finished off the night on the Anniversary track with 7 entries and yet another closely fought race with one lap seperating first and second and a further lap back to third and then daylight to the rest of the field.

Overall another excellent night of racing which only gets better each week.

Hi Greg,i am glad that you like my reports! I am usually too busy racing or marshalling or laughing too much to take pics..lol! The most carnage happens in the Scalextric GT class. We have actually opened that class up to allow any 1/32 car(except womps and inter 32) because of the limited Scalextric Gt cars so long as you don't go under 7.6 secs.So now you have a mixture of Escorts,MGs, and sports cars and gt cars and the little Escorts, etc are quick in a straightline but not so good in a corner especially if being driven by a newbie so picture if you can these pocket rockets hitting a fence and bouncing into the air and taking other cars with them! Heaven help someone if they lose a wheel as they are met with a chorus of "You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel".There is always good natured piss taking amongst the close racing and a good time is had by all which is the main thing.

A small turn out last night for our weekly 1/32 racing, however that did not mean that the racing was not going to be of high standard as both races were very close.Slot.It Group C only had 4 entries but the racing was close all night despite the track being a bit slippery. There was two laps between first and second and a further four laps back to third and another 3 laps back to fourth.Scalextric GT had 9 entries and ended up being a cracker of a race with the winning margin being a car length with two laps back to third and a further lap back to fourth.Fifth was a further 6 laps back with a further 2 laps back back to sixth and a further one lap back to seventh with daylight back to 8th and 9th.

Another small turn out for our weekly 1/32 racing last night. However the racing was still very hot.Slot.It Group C kicked off the night with 7 entries and Chris ended up the winner on 132 laps after a tough battle with Laz on 130,then Bruce on 129 and myself on 128.The rest of the field were miles behind.Scalextric GT was next and this produced a cracking race with 9 entries and the usual carnage with the little Escorts causing havoc and hitting the floor a couple of times. The final bracket produced some of the best and cleanest racing for a long time with Chris,Mick and myself running side by side without touching each other for the whole 3 minutes bracket. The lead kept swapping back and forward between Chris and myself untill Chris pinged for going under 7.6 seconds leaving me with the win on 135 laps,Chris second on 134,Mick third on 132,Laz fourth on 127,Matt fifth on 126 and Tom sixth on 121 and then daylight to the rext of the field.

We had 12 people turn up for racing tonight which despite the small number still produced some excellent racing.Starting off the night was Slot.It Group C with 8 entries and produced a tight tussle between the first 6 cars with only 6 laps seperating first to sixth at the finish.Chris ended up winning with 132 laps one lap ahead of Laz and Murray who were seperated by a couple of metre at the finish. Two laps further back were Bruce and Jason on 129 laps with a quarter of a lap difference and myself was a further 3 laps back in sixth.Scalextric GT was carnage central with 12 entries and there were cars crashing everywhere and bits flying off so it was a matter of who could stay out of trouble the best would end up on the podium.Despite the carnage the racing was still close up front and myself was fortunate to win by 3/4 of a lap from Chris on 133 laps each, one lap ahead of Laz and Mick on 132 laps each and only metres apart at the finish.Murray was fifth on 129 laps,Matt sixth on 126 and would've finished higher except he went too quick too many times and lost a few laps as a result. The same thing happened to Scott who was a further lap back and Bruce was a further 3 laps back in 8th.Tom was 9th with 120 laps and then daylight to the rest who all had car or controller problems.

What a hot night of racing tonight turned out to be with 14 entries in Scalextric GT and 11 entires in Slot.It Group C.The first race of the night was for Slot. Its and turned out to be a cracking race with Murray winning with 132 laps,1 lap ahead of Chris and Laz on 131 laps seperated by a 1/4 of a lap.Fourth was Jason on 128 just pipping myself on 128 and then Bruce was a further lap back on 127 laps. The rest of the field all had minor problems and were along way back but it was encouraging to see some new faces in this class and with a bit of practice and tuning will keep the others on their toes.

Next up was Scalextric GT and amid the usual carnage there was a hotly fought battle up front which at one stage saw half the field seperated by only a couple of laps on predicted laps.In the end Laz triumphed by a 1/4 of a lap from Mick both on 136 laps.Finishing fast was myself on 135 laps only 2 metres off hitting 136 laps also,3/4 of a lap ahead of Chris on 135 laps.Chucky was next with 128 laps, from Murray on 126 laps and Tom on 124 laps. The rest of the field either had tyre or mechanical problems or too many crashes and were a further 10 to 20 laps back.

Hi everyone,a small number of entries for our 1/32 racing last night but there was some extremely close racing.Slot.It Group C was first up and after a race long battle Chris won with 134 laps,1 lap ahead of Murray on 133 laps.Third place was close too with Laz on 131 laps half a lap ahead of myself on 131,Mick was next 6 laps back on 125 and the other 3 entries were along way behind.Eight entries in Scalextric GT and it was a race long battle between myself and Laz with myself winning by 1 lap with a record 137 laps with Laz on 136.Chris was third on 133 laps and their was a father & son battle for fourth between Tom and Mick and if both of them had not pinged a couple of times would have been in the battle for second place.Tom ended up beating his son by 1 lap and there was daylight to the rest of the field.

Very quiet night last night but the racing was as hot as ever and the carnage was just as big with the crash of the night going to Murray who was running one of the new Flyslot trucks in the 7.6 secs breakout class. It deslotted and jumped into another lane only to hit the wall and have the cabin snap off!.That was after an incident earlier on when the truck somersaulted on the control straight after losing a wheel!.Slot.It Group C saw a 4 way battle for the lead all race with Murray winning with 132 laps, one lap ahead of Chris who was a further lap ahead of Laz who was a further lap ahead of myself with daylight to the rest of the field. The 7.6 secs breakout class saw the closest finish with half a car length seperating Chris and myself for the win.Chris won with 135 laps from myself on 135 with laz a lap back on 134 and daylight to the rest of the field that were caught up in Murray's aforementioned carnage or had mecahnical problems.

A better turnout last night for racing and it just gets more competitive each week.Slot.It Group C kicked off the night with 10 entries and it was a four way tussle for the lead the whole race with everyone keeping an eye on the screen in between brackets to see what their predicted lap total in the round robin format would be.Peter our shop manager had a run and duly won with 136 laps,3 laps ahead of Laz in second on 134 laps.Third was decided by 1/2 a lap with myself getting third ahead of Jason both of us on 133 laps.Bruce was fifth on 128 laps and mick was sixth with 126 laps. The other four racers were miles behind due to various crashes and other problems. The 7.6 seconds breakout class was next and it was carnage central with cars flying off the track following big hits, cars losing wheels and guides but despite all that there was a great 3 way battle for the lead with myself picking up the win by 2 metres from Laz both of us on 135 laps with Mick third 1 lap back on 134 laps.Jason was fourth narrowly beating Tom on 126 laps with Bruce a further 4 laps back on 122 laps. The other 5 racers were well back having lost wheeels, guides, axles popping out and getting involved in some heavy hits.

Another night of racing last night, the bar keeps getting raised each week and the racing for the podium spots has never been closer.Slot.It Group C once again was a close tussle with Laz winning with 134 laps from Jason and Chris on 133 laps and myself on 131 laps.Mick was a further 5 laps back on 126 laps with Matt on 117 and Tom 107.The 7.6 seconds breakout class had 9 entries and there was a good battle between Laz,Chris and myself with the winning margin being 1/2 lap between myself and Chris on 136 laps with Laz a lap back on 135.Tom was next with 124 ans Jay with 122 and the rest all had mechanical problems or crash damage.

Eight entries in Slot.It Group C and ten in the 7.6 secs breakout with Peter Dimmers joining in the fun as well last night.Slot.It Group C was up first and the first 5 cars were seperated by just 6 laps at the finish.Jason picked up the win with 136 laps, followed by Peter D(alias RacerX) on 134.Chris was a further 2 laps back on 132 followed by myself on 131 and Laz on 130.Bruce was 6th with 125 followed by Matt on 118 and Len on 97.The 7.6 secs breakout class was next and this was a close battle all race with only 5 laps seperating the top 6 cars at the finish.Matt and myself had a race long battle with myself coming out the victor with 136 laps from Matt on 135,one lap ahead of Laz on 134.Chris and Peter D had a close battle with Chris just pippin Peter at the finish with both on 132,Bruce was next on 131,having to swap cars just before the start when the front wheels of his Ninco Mercedes fell off along with a chorus of "you picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel"!!Jason was next on 129,Len on 124 George on 117 and Brett on 96.

A very good turnout last night for our regular Wednesday night racing with 11 entries in both Slot.It Group C and the 7.6 secs breakout class.Slot.Its were up first and that started out with a bit of carnage in the first breakout before it settled down and Peter D gave everyone a driving lesson winning with 137 laps.Hot on his heels was a four way battle for second with Jason getting second on 135 laps followed closely by Chris on 134,Laz 132 and myself on 131.Three laps back in sixth was Mick with 128 followed by Matt Y on 117 and Jamie on 108 who were both having their first race.Nicola headed a tight battle for the remaining places with 103 laps ahead of Matt T on 102 and Tom on 100.The 7.6 secs breakout class was as usual a mixture of carnage and mayhem with plenty of cars going too fast which cost a number of drivers a top finish. There was a race long battle between Chris,Laz and myself which ended with victory to me after Chris pinged in the last second of a bracket towards the end of the race and Laz also pinged too many times.I finished with 137 laps from Chris on 135 and Laz on 134.Four laps back in fourth was Mick on 130 having had too many pings and crashes.Tom was fifth on 121 followed closely by Brett on 119,Matt T and Jay on 117,all three victims of going too quick too often.Nicola was next on 11 followed by jason 93 and Barb on 84.

Some very close racing last night on what was a very fast and grippy track which caused a lot of pinging in the breakout class. There was also a fair bit of carnage in both races particularly in the breakout class with an Escort causing mayhem with plenty of barrell rolls and taking out the competition at times.Slot It Group C as usual was first up and this was a ripper of a race with only 3 laps seperating the first 4 cars at the finish.Jason won with 137 laps followed by Chris on 136,Laz was next with 135 followed by myself with 134.Matt Y was best of the rest with 122 from Matt T on 121 then came Scott on 115,Len on 113 and Jamie on 110.The 7.6 secs breakout class was again two races in one with 4 laps seperating the first 3 cars who were miles ahead of the rest of the field who spent more time on their roof or on the floor than in the slot and if they were not doing that they were pinging too often.Chris was the victor on 136 laps from Laz on 135 and myself on 132.Len was best of the rest 14 laps back on 118 followed by a heated battle which was won by Scott on 11 from Matt T on 110 and Brett on 109.
