Hi All

I thought I would share with you the transformation of Meggavalley Raceway new location. I recently moved from Sydney to Lemon Tree Passage near Nelson Bay NSW & had to establish a new "Man Shed" to house the new track layout & other hobbies.

This is the new "Man Shed"

Hi Terry,

Great job on the shed, and the track. But with a double crossover will the individual track lengths be unequal ?

Greg

Hi Greg thanks for the comments, in answer to your question I as well was surprised when I calculated the track length & found that all lanes are exactly equal............. :)

It only has one crossover

.

It has a section that loops in under a bridge but it doesn't cross there

Yes ... Your right. ... It doesn't matter which end you take as the crossover, you can 'untangle' the other end and your left with a figure 8. Thats good lateral thinking. Ta.

Looks like a really fun layout meggs, I can imagine some close racing on that, great!

I must say though im envious of your shed! Nice!

Being separate from the house is perfect in my book, none of this "Dad! Can I have........."

Have you got room for a lounge and a telly? Great place to watch the V8's :-D

Oh, and a fridge! Geez! I nearly forgot the important bit!

Hi all

Latest update.

Well all the painting is completed including the light tower for track timing............used a 70 mm plastic down pipe cut to size then primed & painted..

I then started the pain staking task of laying copper tape to the rails. & after 8 hrs of back breaking effort here is the finished result.

I am very pleased with the finish & good (constant) supply of power to all lanes. Then yesterday afternoon I got motivated & made a lap board out of an old white board (Hanging on the wall) as my old version lap timing (Track Mate) does not store data to be downloaded later & no printer attached to old computer.

Now its time for a shake down......hopefully some mates will be visiting in a couple of weeks to do some testing. I will let you now how it goes then.
