difinity 27 Report post Posted October 1, 2014 Semi gloss - depends on what paint Andrew has/recommends. Not Feradore though... (I want to be able to run sponge tyres on it too)
32coupe 20 Report post Posted October 14, 2014 A bit closer to being ready to install in it's final resting place. I have painted the lane colours and the first coat of semigloss, time to deliver it to Tony. Quote A man without a woman is like a neck without a pain. Ember 71 Report post Posted October 23, 2014 Is there a name for the track yet? I'm inclined to think it should be something knotty. Quote Computers. They'll never catch on. difinity 27 Report post Posted October 23, 2014 Knott yet... Seriously though, the top straight is about 3m, the 'short l' covers about 2 x 2.5m. The rest is meant to be challenging but flowing. It is one of Andrew's tracks so should flow well...
32coupe 20 Report post Posted October 23, 2014 Did you deliberately not choose red as a lane colour so you wouldn't have any confusion with the Trackmate s/w? Yes, red gets very confusing when running on empty during a fuel race. Quote A man without a woman is like a neck without a pain.
difinity 27 Report post Posted October 25, 2014 Getting there: Last join, stretching, taping, pc, lights & sensors, fences, controllers etc. in the meantime, here's a photo spot...
difinity 27 Report post Posted October 31, 2014 Having a play with track furniture. Here's a possible start line light gantry. It will hang of the base of the bridge, so doesn't need a vertical support. If ppl lean all over it, I'll nake one up.
shadow_rusty 41 Report post Posted November 2, 2014 Did some of the wiring harnesses for this track today... Light bridge has had the IR LED's fitted, and wired up. Track sensor harness made. Relay / Track call harness mostly made (Awaiting 1 plug). Still have to make the start lights harness, and fit it all up, but the timing system is definitely getting there... difinity 27 Report post Posted November 3, 2014 Many thanks S_R. Andrew refitted the track more correctly on the weekend, taking some of the stresses out where didn't belong. Much better at this than I am, that's for sure. Patched holes and gaps, smoothed joins and repainted. Fitted first set of support brackets tonight and just about have the elevations finalised. Got plugs for the power, but ended up with the wrong ones. Back to Fyshwick tomorrow if I can. (Need 412/110, not 412L)... Need tape, power and circuitry and we are almost go! difinity 27 Report post Posted November 8, 2014 Awesome job mr m. As for size, it is kind of a t shape, with the long side along the top of the t. From top corner to hairpin, 3500mm. Track is 300mm wide, but hairpin is 780 at the widest point. The tail (with donut and bridge) is 1100mm wide * 2200 long. Total track length is approx 12m (centre lane). Will have a better view once the tape goes on ...
difinity 27 Report post Posted November 11, 2014 Progress report: Mr A has worked his magic again - taped and tapped. Now only to wire up the taps, add suitable fences and rubber up. Will be a good weekend's worth of work! Pics below: Start straight & loop into donut and bridge. Donut and bridge Straight, hairpin and bottom deck. Lights still to go in on top straight
