Chassis

Standard V8 chassis

Weight may be added ANYWHERE on the chassis.

 

Body

 

Standard body.

May be lowered over the chassis

 

Motor

Standard Scaley motor

 

Gears

Any 11 tooth pinion & any 36 tooth spur gear

 

Wheels, Tyres & inserts

Standard front wheels & any front tyre.

 

Standard back wheels or Slot it 17.3 X 8

short hub only

Slot it 20 x 10 F30 tyres only.

 

Guide

Any guide may be used

Can AM Classics & Pre 75 Sports Cars

 

This link provides all the races and cars that took place in the Can AM class from 1966-1975.

 

Era

Pre 1975 Can AM style Sports & Lemans Cars.

 

Brands

Fly: Porsche 917/10, 908, Carrera 6, Ferrari 512 etc

Sloter: Ferrari 312, Lola 280, 290

Scalextric: Chaparral

Slot It: Ferrari 312B, Alfa Romeo 33/3, CHaparral, GT40, McLaren M8D (when available)

NSR: Porsche 917, GT 40 (Mk I, MK II, MK IV, P68)

Approriate Revell Monogram and Carrera cars eg Porsche 917/30

 

Chassis

Standard but can have sides trimmed to allow body tilt.

Body may be lowered onto chassis.

Weight may be added where possible but must NOT below the chassis. (Can be inline with the bottom however)

Guide may be replaced with another from other brands.

 

Body

Standard bodies from above manufacturers.

No flaring of guards to fit tyres.

Wheel sand tyres must not protrude outside the body when viewed from above.

 

Wheels & Tyres

Standard plastic or alloy wheels. NO AIR RIMS. Only MJK tyres allowed.

 

Gearing

Any gear ratio allowed

 

Motor

MT-1, SL-1 slimline motor only.

Could be very interested in being part of this next year - but where do you get those motors for the Can Am class?

 

John - you still need to come over some time to evaluate the suitability of my track for race nights..... It's been used for years for the International Slot.it Proxy (even our current Scaley World Champ liked it...), but not sure how it would work for a group of bods....

 

Edit - actually, upon reflection a 58' 2 lane Scaley Sport track really isn't up to scratch compared to the others in the group - not bad for social 'messing around', but probably not for much more....

 

Still might be part of racing at others venues if possible... ;)
