Slo
Well done Alan and thanks, thats a big effort on your own. How do you like the cars being split into 2 seperate classes? I liked it, tends to keep weary at bay, can have a bit of a break, ponder the cars just run, then get into it again for the next bunch. Congrats to those at the pointy end. Fuzzy hanging on by the skin of his teeth. So too Phil. Off to New South next yeh?
haystack
Thanks Alan for the round at Norton Hill. Happy for a couple of strong runs, better than I expected. Now to keep the hounds on the trail of Fuzzy. Quote Chris H.M.C.C

shadow_rusty
Massive thanks Lenny for running the round and getting my car to 2nd overall... Seems like my bribing the officials is paying off... lol. Congrats to FPV GTP for beating me, even if it was only by 0.234 of a second over 8.25 minutes of racing... After all, we couldn't let a Scaley win a round, as really, it belongs at the bottom... Congrats to the other Podiumites, and I'm honoured to be in your presence... 1 points separating 2nd till 4th in Historic and 4 points separating the top 6 places in WRC is making things very interesting. Very much looking forward to the rest of the series... Miverson, BillX's motor is a 'Standard' Scaley FF-050 (even though the Scaley RS200's are FC-130 cars)... LOL Thank for running this round so quickly,I am sure everyone appreciates all the effort. The cars now go off to NSW for 4 rounds. I will confirm if Mel will be the first of the rounds there. shadow_rusty
Alan, now that you have had some well deserved rest after your stella effort of running and marshalling the round, any chance of a pic or 2 of the track? I'm just very curious why my car was so good on this stage... lenny broke
Hi Rusty. Yep, look for some more posts in the next day or so. I work full time so am back at my desk today. I'm packing eveything up tonight but hope to post something tonight. If you look for Norton Hill in the home tracks forum under SA and also the 2011-12 round 3 there should be some pics there. Previous rounds have shown the narrow cars do well on my track, Tom & Cam's little Ford Escort and Ninco Megane having had some good finishes Alan Edited December 2, 2013 by lenny broke Quote home track club racer Spitfire Raceway forum link https://www.facebook.com/groups/1753319218331240/?ref=bookmarks

Ontheflipside
Thanks to LB for running this round so efficiently. Congrats to all 6 podiumites Well I'm one of them Gee Marios car is looking a bit of a worry. Maybe it could get airborne at the top of the mountain here at MSP and land on the concrete floor. :) Hell! My Lancer didn't like the backwards run eh? Then again it's not Greek. lenny broke
Hi Guys Just to wrap everything up for round 3 I think the the 2 Class / 2 part format worked reasonably well. it allowed bit of a break between the classes instead of slogging through all 32 cars as in the past. I did find it a bit of a task toward the end of the second class on Sunday though that's probably due to my solo effort. Next year I'll chase up some help. Just to follow up on some questions From Ember "Out of curiosity. Do you think the motor suitable for the task? I suppose hard to tell when the rest of the car is a pup. The car was a bit unpredictable to drive, until I found a front axle bearing loose it the chassis. I've since glued that back in and the car now drives quite well. as to the motor I thinkit's a bit behind the Ninco motors. I noticed it had a 30 t crown wheel, whether this would have any bearing on performance I'm not sure. Playing with gear ratios may turn something up. From Mel "Hell! My Lancer didn't like the backwards run eh?" Mel the Lancer started out real strong but a couple of laps it started to slow and then eventually stopped on the timer dead strip. I gave it a rev in reverse and that seemd to free it up again buut it jammed again just before the end of the run. By the time I got it going again it lost too much time. It turns out one of the drive belts slipped off and jammed between the front pulley and the front bearing. this jammed up the front axle. I didn't realise she was a belt drive until I took the lid off to have a look. I refitted it again and gave it a test run where it went OK, It should be a front runner on home ground. I did a repair on Miveson's Lancia. It broke the guide mount which I have repaired and it should be OK now. I've yet to go through the camera but will upload some pics tomorrow and upload an album to photobucket and link it here. Thanks for letting me play with your toys guys. the box goes into the post tomorrow morning. Cheers Alan Quote home track club racer Spitfire Raceway forum link https://www.facebook.com/groups/1753319218331240/?ref=bookmarks

curef99
alan, is the gear still noisy on braking for mine? any advise for next year?
charlesx
Big thanks to Alan for running this round and congrats to podiumites. Pity you were left to do everything. My car seems to have recovered somewhat from qualifying but still well behind first four cars thanks to 6 deslots. A bit surprised about latter but thems the breaks. After disaster on this track last year where I suffered mechanical issues I suppose I should be very happy. About 30 minutes faster. Have slipped again overall now to 4th but still very close with only two points separating top 4. Look forward to next round.
