bishbosh
Following on from my replacement track build post in home tracks NZ I thought I'd post up my attempts at some scenic items. My last track didn't really get finished how I wanted it to and a lot of that was down to getting it running and then racing and neglecting the finishing touches. So to try and reduce the chance of that happening again I've been starting to scratch build some trackside buildings. The first attempt is balsawood and based on the old scalextric event building board, nothing too flash just a hut/shed/whatever once the track is finished. The other 2 things I'm working on are modeled from plasticard and are marshall towers, I am aiming for a track with a vintage look to it so hopefully the buildings will reflect this. These are my first scratch builds and I've never really been patient enough to follow through properly, but I'm pleased so far.. Hopefully I'll be able to keep on track with these and provide further images of my progress.
Ember
Ahhh.... You've learned the lesson so many of us do. Once there is power to the track scenic work tends to grind to a slow crawl. Nice start on the buildings. Quote Computers. They'll never catch on.
