QRphil
Just completed a one way conversion of a SCX digital car to Scalextric Digital. I say one way, as it will destroy the SCX chip during the removal process. The SCX digital chips do not look like they have been designed to be fixed. The new Slot.it SP15 chip will fit in the space of the old SCX chip. I remove the power pick ups from the old SCX chip and bent them to replace the pick up wires on the SP15 chip. The guide also had to be narrowed down, by removing the metal plates and filing down to a 1.5mm thickness. The job was not as hard as I had expected. Enjoy. Modified power pick ups, removed from old SCX chip: New power pick up arms on Slot.it SP15 decoder: The end result, a SSD SCX Citroen Xsara WRC chassis:

QRphil
Thanks shadow_rusty, I should have shortened the cable to the motor before hot gluing the decoder in place, but I will know next time. The worst part of the job was trying to remove the old super hard glue, that held the original SCX decoder in place. Next job is to wire up the Xsara lights. shadow_rusty
You can always shorten the wires at the motor side easily enough... As for the lights, I wire them up to the guide with a diode in each lead. (Should use a bridge rectifier, but oh well) That way the lights come on as soon as the car is put on the track... ps. A nice small, cheap bridge rectifier... Bridge Rectifier And if you want them to stay on for 30secs when you crash, use this regulator, and super cap... Voltage Regulator Super Cap But you will need to change the value of the resistor on the scx light boards...
