wwwace
Hi all, In this thread let's have a look at some of the new Plafit 2012/13 product releases. The new design Aluminum Racing Wheels in the usual sizes are exclusively used with the Plafit RTR Wheels/Tires : There is a weight saving compared to the older style wheels of about 30% for fronts and 20% for rear wheels. Manufactured in Japan, these wheels are very precise and of good, strong Aluminum. Set screw stripping and bending on the axle is pretty much unheard off. The new smaller front wheel width means less drag and less weight on the front axle.
wwwace
A new Plafit 1700 Chassis version is the 1700SR : It is designed especially for the use of 1/24 Scaleauto bodies where the body mounting is done by simple screw fixing onto the supplied body adaptor sets made from Nylon. At present these adaptors are available to fit the 1/24 Porsche 997 GT3, Jaguar XKR GT2 and the BMW M3 GT2 bodies. The chassis is in RTR version with Fox II Motor and 21mm RTR Wheels/Tires. The Flat Body Mount Plates out off the 1700 chassis system can be used for weights as shown in these photos. This chassis is also available without any running gear (1700SK) : Edited May 21, 2013 by wwwace
wwwace
There is a new Main Chassis Plate which is used with the Plafit 1700SR : Named the 1701B15, it has the same dimensions as the Plafit 1701B (+10mm compared to the standard 1701) but is also 1.5mm thick which results in a higher weight (plus 10 grams). Also a new T-Plate (1705GS) has been added which features counter sunk screw holes compared to the similar plate 1705G :

wwwace
Yes, the Plafit 1700 Chassis system has become rather comprehensive with so many chassis available variations and parts. However with the production stop of the 1300 Excel it has to be assured that the widest possible area within 1/24 Model Car Racing is still covered. Later this year a new longer main chassis plate for the 1700G Chassis will be introduced which will be part of the new 1700GTC Chassis used mainly with the 1/24 Japanese GT Class. However with the existing parts a 1700G Chassis for this class in 2013 could look like this : The combinations are many......
