axman
Hey Josh.. need to be a bit more specific.. the options are huge... 1/32 or 1/24th scale. 5, 10 or 50 cars. Carry on luggage for an interstate event or just for local racing. I've seen some of the biggest boxes with the 1/32 guys...They seem to cram dozens of cars in because they race (and show of) so many classes. NZ Paul make a good 1/32 -1/24th combo one from an aluminium briefcase which is ideal as carry on... There's pic's on the site here some where and its good because you dont get a hernia picking it up. Like I said.. lots of options. mattcrackers
PM sent Joshua. The box I posted a pic of today will cost you roughly $40 to make yourself, the dearest parts being the hinge, latch and handle (about $25 from Bunnings). All you need is 6mm MDF for the frames and I used 3mm MDF for the sliding shelves and the drawers. If you have the tools and know how it's not really that hard, will take a bit of time but there's no need to rush. Axman is right in asking what you want it for as your dimensions will vary depending on the size of cars and how many you want to fit in the box. We race a total of 6 different classes at WASCRG so I'm slowly getting 2 of each class, I also have some other cars in the box which I race elsewhere. Going off your other posts I'd say 1/32 but it all depends on how many cars you want to put in your box, I decided on the 12 as I said earlier, it's easier keeping the cars which are going to be used in the box instead of in the shed at home, at least this way I can work on them inside without having to go to the shed during the cooler months. axman
Geez Tex... I can see your car preparation far excedes your carpentry skills. Glad you're an Architect and not an office partition installer
shadow_rusty
My slot car case cost me $0... I already had a bag ($10 tops anyway), and the rest was recycled from the IT 'rubbish' (oops storage) room... http://www.auslot.com/forums/index.php?/topic/16359-another-slot-car-case/ Quote Stolen from SlotsNZ Team ABC Team Leader (Ambitious, But Crap) Home Track Threads - Shadow's Semi-Permanent Layout & Another Rug Racer & Proud of It & Gymkhana Test Track Car Collection Thread - My Car Collection Charts / Diagrams - MJK Tyre Selector / Slot.it 4wd Gearing / PoliCar Rollout / Rollout Chart Generator / SCX 4wd Rollout / Track Wiring with Brake on Track Call
Baz
If you are after a ready made car carrier , pretty hard to go past the one Paul NZ builds. Best thing I ever bought for transporting slot cars Cheers Barry
