Help With Scalextric Design

Zero

Recommended Posts

hello Everyone,

I have finally bought a house and i have a dbl garage that i can set up my track in. I down loaded both TRACK POWER and SCALEXTRIC TRACK DESIGNER the problem is i cant get either to work, they either dont load or crash when they do load. I was wondering if anyone could help me design a track to fit in a 2.2mtr x 4.2mtr area, i do plan to go Digital in the future so a nice long straight would be great so i can put 3 Xovers for the pits.

I have the following peices

FULL STRAIGHTS 15 SSD , 11 Classic

1/2 STRAIGHTS 7 SSD , 4 Classic

45 Deg Curve 12 SSD , 6 Classic

90 Deg Curve 2 SSD

SSD to Classic Conversion 1/2 STRAIGHT 6

THANKS IN ADVANCE for any design help

Have you tried Ultimate Racer software.its reasonably easy to use but be careful if you try the elevations.

I got the free version and have created designs with heaps of pieces.

Try this version.

UR30 should allow you to build a track over 30 pieces, and just not allow you to save it...

Also, Slotman is completely free...

Thanks for that version or UR30 ZeGas...

Zero,

Are all of your curves the same radius?

Are the 90 degree curves the 'racing crossover' curves?

I'll try to design you a track using those pieces by tomorrow afternoon...

thanks everyone , Shadow-rusty ive come up with a basic track but there are a few gaps here and there not quite a perfect layout some parts are Stretched to fit which thrws the curves off and yes all the curves are the 45deg standard curves (same radius) and the 90 deg curver are the cross overs anything you come up with would be great thanks again

Scalextric track has incredible 'wiggle room'...

I've made a half straight gap disappear over the course of 40pieces of track...

Unfortunately, due to the low number of corners, it's difficult to create a complex track, but this should be quite fun and something like it is where I would be starting...

The full/half straights on the left and right are the start and end of the classic track.

The reason for this is that classic track has significantly higher grip which works well for a back straight...

The grey box is the 4,2m x 2.2m room size...
