South Australian Scalextric Championship March 2013

Recommended Posts

Hi all Thunderbird Raceway and Slotmasters Slotcar Club will be hosting the 2013 South Australian Scalextric Championship in March this year.

We are intending to run both Scalextric magnet GT cars and LMP cars with the rules being the same as the Scale Model Nationals.

We will post more details shortly.

ED/Forum Moderators are we able to post this under Special Events?

any chance that you place some link to the rules?

Hi yes sorry for the delay on this one they will be the same as the Scale Madle Nationl rules for the GT cars with the exceptionf some disucssion of not allowing the Calsonic cars to run one of which is on the poster at the moment I will update.

The LMP will just need to be written up for the elegable cars however these are likely to be the modern LPM cars LMP1 and LMP2 at this stage.

I will post up the rules tommorow if I get a chance however look at the Scale Modle Nationls threads.

The program is likely to be:-

Saturday 23rd March Scalextric GT Practice, Qualifying and racing for both junior and senior classes

Sunday 24th March Scalextric LMP Practice, Qualifying and raciong for both junior and senior classes

We are all just starting to gear up for this year with everyone just returning from holidays.

Regards

Ray

Need to change rule 4 for the rear tyres. It refers to Ninco tyres.

Are you allowed to remove body posts/pillars and sand the chassis/body for float??

Is the positioning, brand and number of magnets free?

cheers

Hey Rick how is it going thanks for that pickup I have made the edit. The rules were basically a cut and paste from the nationals.

No body mods apart from minor sanding and scraping to allow body float (normal reasonable prep work but not excessive to reduce weight)

Magnets will be one magnet in original position only can be of any brand but there will be a limit of 350 gms down force including the weight of the car placed on an magnet marshal.

Hi all please see the Wiki list of LMP cars. Rather than research the current list of Scalextric LMP cars (which may be added to as these are put on the market) it was thought that we would post the open list of cars that ran in the LMP, LMP2 classes. Please note that Group C cars are not elegable.
