If it sticks at this amount of entrants, will it be known as the "SCX World Heinz Rally Proxy"?

Off to exercise the trigger finger (and some of the other ones).

Maybe you can close the numbers and approach Heinz for a supplemental postage contribution.

IMO the only advantage I can think of at present is a big event may attract more or a larger sponsor.

Not sure what is on offer from SCX yet but we could do with another "cash" sponsor to help with postage for shipping the cars around the world and also the shipping of prizes.

WOW! This is going to be one very big event! As some of you know we are combining the Italian round in October with the Mini Monte Carlo rally. My plan is to run the SCX round over the Thursday and Friday, then the MMC over the weekend. I may be hospitalised afterwards. Statemented at least!

I have my own thoughts regarding sponsorship.

The traditional way of going to a company with cupped hands doesn't work. It needs a different approach. You need to show them what slot racing or, more correctly in this case, slot rallying is all about. A video presentation on a laptop or iPad does this brilliantly, but the best way is to get them along to a track for a demo and free evening's racing/rallying. Then point out the advertising possibilities, along the lines of getting a feature in the local papers for a tiny amount compared to an advert or sponsoring a full-size car. You may have

For the Mini Mille Miglia I got two cars liveried up for each sponsor, one for them to put in their office or reception area and a super-resistant one for beginners to use at our track. They paid 500 euros for this pleasure. We raised over 6,000 euros over the three MMMs, covering costs and the rest to our chosen charities.

For a more recent event I livieried up a bodyshell in a company's colours, mounted it on my own chassis and took it to the boss along with a presentation. Although his tongue was hanging out they were so strapped for cash that they couldn't even sponsor 50 euros. I was looking for 250 with the car residing in his reception between race meetings. Bit of a bummer that one, but it would work with most companies, if you did your research better.

Hello All,

I too would love to be apart of this.

I have read about proxy racing for ages but the timing has always been off.

Are you taking entries?

If you are I'll send through my details and pay straight away!

Cheers

I have been keeping Branco company for 16 years (15 of those spent in therapy!!)
I drive round on his rally track and i have treated myself to a new ford fiesta so he persuaded me to enter lancer in Proxy series.

Hi folks

Any room for another Manx entry, for my better half, Barbs Hills?

If so, No. 36 please, another Mitsi Lancer Evo, under the name Barbs.

Also, as the Isle of Man is not part of the UK or GB, may we please change the country from GB to IOM for each of:

Nos. 15; 35; 36; 52; and 53?

Many thanks
Dave
