Matt K 0 Report post Posted June 30, 2012 Hello All, I am in the midst of building my layout in my basement as we speak. I currently have 225' of SSD track set up with several spots of 3 and 4 lane racing. I have a 15 pit lane and am gonna order the modified pit lane game to detect pit in and out. I have the 6 car pb with the screen/monitor and am gonna download SSDC to use as a rms. I have 9 lane changes, a couple of crossovers, 2 chicanes and a hairpin turn. I was wondering if there was anyway with all of the programming ability of the 6 car digital pb with SSDC to create a pace car? I mean to have a car waiting in a pit lane of sorts and when the track call is signalled the pace car automaticly comes out and all cars are slowed down through the race management system? Once the track call was over the pace car would duck back in and the green would drop again. I have seen a video of this on youtube but wasnt able to dig up any info from there. Any help would be awesome. Just seems like seeing a pace car and a wrecker take a few laps on "caution" would be awesome! Matt
RikoRocket 2 Report post Posted July 4, 2012 This is Utopia! I asked for this 3 years ago but the problem is lack of positional data. SSDC can replicate a good lap with cars slowing for corners and accelerating and even changing lanes is possible, but we get one data pulse when it passes the PB and that is it, the rest is guesswork. The evolution of Scorpius came out of Rick looking at more intelligent lane changers that could signal position, and that would allow us to do the whole start up cruise and then park again. But I don't think the market for specialist lane changers is big enough for the outlay of manufacturing costs. So are we dead with this idea? No. I was discussing low cost sensing opportunities with Andy the author of SSDC only a few weeks ago. But it is not close :( Quote .............................PM me for C7042 Aux to PC cables............or Pit-Pro...

glengtl1 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2012 Any chance the pit pro set up could be used for sector timing? Quote www.gtlslotcaraccessories.com
RikoRocket 2 Report post Posted October 3, 2012 Theoretically yes, but SSDC would need a lot of re-writing to use it. Andy is a bit too tied up with work at the moment to be able to do that though. :( Quote .............................PM me for C7042 Aux to PC cables............or Pit-Pro...
