The "mud" effect cars are as supplied by SCX

17 repaints out of a field of 42. That's a pretty good representation.

Are the graphics on your car decals or did you hand paint them?

They are decals. I had Mr Kalbfell print them for me. The gold really is quite rich and warm and doesn't come up really well in photos.

I made up a thingumabob (technical term) to do some "staged" jump pics, and got a bit carried away with the black paint.

Just as we were talking about the cars leaving Oz for Canada at Mels today ,I've had an email from Luf and the cars have arrived in Canada safe and sound. Just under a week. Now theres a load off my mind.

Hi folks

That's a good set of photos!

Glad to hear the cars are now in the northern hemisphere in good time!

I'm looking forward to the next round, hopefully it will be as suited to my car as Round 1. But that's half the fun, ins't it, you just never know.... B)

Cheers

Its a mixed bag Dave . What works on one track may not on another track. I think the track surface was the achilles heal on some of the cars on our tracks. It surprising that when your car runs as well as you think on your own track ,that as soon as it then runs another ,that whole set up goes out the window. I'm hoping mine works on all tracks :D In saying that ,I think its a lottery . You sit back ,take each track in and by the end of it hope your car is at least somewhere near the pointy end of the field. Then remember that your car has just been around the world ,something you may not ever do and for the price of postage.
Cheers Craig

Yep, and just when you get it right they go and change the class of car.

I'm really looking forward to photographing and videoing the cars on my track.

Depending on how many survive, we might look at running the same class next time, that way minor improvements can be made on the cars judging on it's performance and feedback from the different rounds, tracks and surfaces ....... just a thought .......... or we go raid truck :D

Whoops, that provoked a serious reaction!

A raid truck wouldn't go round my track anyway, and I guess that's true of many. Dreadful idea in my opinion.

I think it's a little premature to plan for next year and the Raid trucks won't go under my bridges either. Lets see how this year plays out, so far there has not been a dominant car type or entry but it's still too early to make an accurate assesment.
