HBMRC - Hawkes Bay, NZ

Recommended Posts

Okay, we're up to week 4 this coming Thursday at Oakland Raceway

Week 4

1 NASCAR/ Classic NASCAR

2 New class - I had suggested DTM for week one, but that would put the BTCC Brit touring cars this week, which seems a bit soon, so lets have DTM as the middle class.

folks, if you are removing the light looms and the ferrite men (the capacitors+ferrite beads soldered to the motor terminals and guide) from these cars (scalextric btcc), please do not throw them away...instead send them to a nice new home (mine of course ;-)).

Hello stranger. - Oh the ferrite men I have thrown away........ Well knowing you want them in particular, I will start a collection.

I haven't fully decided on the light loom in my BTCC, but I'll start putting things aside, and anyone else in club with same can add to the heap if they wish.

BTW - heading back to the other hemisphere later this year for a holiday. Looks like we will hang our hats in the top of Italia a few days.

Not sure if we'll make it down to Reggio this time or not. Depends on the trains from Peschiera. Yet to check that out

All BTCC cars need to be scrutinized so dont biff anything until I have checked your cars...probably have to be some other time than this Thursday as I have family showing up.

Cheating in this class unlike other classes will not be permitted.

We need to be on the same page...no one running off making stuff up.

As per my earlier post I have biffed all sorts of stuff on my VW. The contrate gear rubbed on the chassis recess making it howl under power and when I ground it out I put a hole in the chassis. Duh...... It's still a pig. Noisy and lumpy. I'm makin' bacon.

I have a new address...moved a couple of months ago but I have not still managed to setup the track properly.

Actually I have not done anything slot related for ages...

I have edited the club racing rules and included the 3 new classes. I am 3 beers in so they will need some scrutineering and further edits.

I have suggested that we allow the BTCC class to have the rear axle/bushes braced to the motor. From what I have read this is a notoriously noisy class so anything to reduce that noise /shudder sits well with me - but happy to go with consensus of course.

Post any edits / comments etc and I will amend.

No to bracing.....add weight, change the tires, glue and true......is all my Honda has required and was all the initial plan was to be....Less is more in this class.

I dont think this should be a builders class but an easy simple set up that works.....oh yours doesnt work? ......mine does.

My car has no judder, shudder or hop and runs quietly......Japanese cars are the best.

Honestly, if you need to brace you have missed an essential building step.
