You mean all my grappa has been washed off!!! :o

Must've been the dog pee.

oh well still in the middle of the pack but more towards the bottom this time. I didnt think it would be so competitive and maybe for next year I should try and remove the lighting and get the car balanced a bit better.

Yep Graham, some great scraps going on there. Going up and down the scoresheet, there's some very tight ones, mohawkk and ferrarif40, Zarko and oldslot, kid voltage and yngwie, amongst others - a gnats chuff separating each pairing. Fabulous stuff.

Btw, some of the lads from our club were a bith north of you in Soragna this weekend. The NSR 24 hour challenge. They had great fun. Again, courtesy of Maurizio.

I'd forgotten about the dog pee. Yep, that would have been enough to do it, especially from a Rottweiller. :P

I think my win was just down to luck really. I did remove the lighting, wing mirrors, central supports to the interior, grind the tyres down to slicks, solder the motor legs and add a bit of lead to the side pans. Other than that it's pretty normal. I didn't even get a chance to run it in properly what with three cars to prepare.

I'd love to have gone to the 24 hour at Soragna. It sparked me up to put two teams in the 12 hour next year though. We've got the drivers. All we need are the sponsors, and I've got a cunning plan for that. Good luck to your guys. The competition is pretty fierce here in Italy so anything better than last is a result!

Hope I've closed the gap on you on Stage 2 Matt...!

Well done Graham on Stage 1, and it's good to see it's very close all down the field.

I seem to have forgotten about the grappa and dog pee...bit too late now!

Will the Glen Helen have it behind (or under) the bar?

By the sounds of it Snurfen, it'll be in the cleaning cupboard. No where near the bar.

Congratulations to Alexis, Craig and Matt

I suspect that anything that even looks close to a lamb will not be safe in Greece tonight

The Skoda never missed a beat on the second stage, never even looked like coming off.

Of the five stages run over the first two rounds, we've had a different winner for each stage, pretty cool

The cars will be boxed up and posted by the end of the week (hopefully) ..... the next round is at Luf's in Canada

Craig's and my tracks are 11 & 12 on the hit list

Oh well, the glory was never going to last.

Still, I'm pleased with the final result. A big thank you to Gazza and crew for running such a great round with fab photos.

Well done Alexis!!!

Updates series points....

Posted Image

Biggest move and shakers for R2 in the series are IanAtWolves and PhilK, and coversely Phoneno and Yngwie suffered in R2.

BIggest mover in the points section was Alexis with his Stage 2 win propelling him in to the lead at the mercy of OTFS, Gazza and slotcarmann.

There really is nothing in it with plenty of opportunity for others to grab some points in the upcoming rounds.

And of course updates to the bragging competitions outside of individuals....

Posted Image

Updated: Fixed issue with Alexis points, initially I did not allocate the 3 points for the Stage 2 win.

Well, the Mitsubishi recorded two 278+ second runs, very consistent, so I can't grumble! About where I expected to be generally, so maybe 8th in Round 1 was a flash in the pan...! <_<

A bit down on top speed by the look of it, so I'm hoping on the more difficult tracks I'll be nearer the front. :)

Thanks guys, it was pretty close all the way down really!

Thank's for the update Mark

The Skoda's performance in the final stage was nothing short of astounding, it even beat Mario's (FPV GTP) time set with a modified MSC RS200

Wow, never expected to get a toe on a podium! chuffed.

Over the two Minto stages, just 3/100ths slower than BenM and 1.5/100ths faster than Mexico 2000 - that's close racing.

Many thanks for all the driving, marshalling and organizing thats gone on so far. Looking forward to all the cars getting to Canada in good shape for the next round.

ps, great photography.

It looks like the tyres are still rubbing on the interior (have a look at the pic above with the rear tyre) ...... did you trim the body ride height at all ? ..... it just seems a bit lower than normal, if you did, your not on your pat malone, a few have "lowered" their body and then trimmed the chassis and then run the whole thing with about half a turn on the screws, lots of body movement but the tyres are hitting the guards, and or, the interior

Yours and the others will probable perform better on the flatter tracks to come, as the twisty Oz tracks need the body to be a little bit more rigid and clearance between guard and tyre

Yeh, you can't just take your final position as "oh i only finished 8th" or so, you have to look how close the cars are in the times

Having a "perfect" run can make up so much time during a stage, and only having one off can turn a good run from hero to zero in a heartbeat 1st to 14th was only 20 seconds, that's bugger all, a couple of off's or hick ups that's all

Holly Skoda Octavia Batman, that thing smashed us!!!!!! Those results are the kind of close results I expected, no guarantees here.

Thanks boys for the long hours you've put in over the last few weeks. If I was at the Slotkhana this weekend id buy you a beer or three.

The RX-81's will be on the rev limiter at Luf's.
