I can't remember DM. I THOUGHT a guy in our club had a metro as angle-winder years back, but that was years ago.

Shoot I had stacks of them in stock, when I was dealing; but never got around to pulling any out to play with.

When I was selling down, I decided one evening, that I was going to keep two particular cars for myself, then lo and behold, some turkey from one of the Christchurch clubs ordered those exact two cars overnight before I could remove them from the shop stock .........

From memory, Ivan also told me they were going to offer rolling chassis for purchase when they first release/re-release cars with the new options; but that would still be dependent upon the Oz distributor deciding there was a market for him to import some for the local dealers.

- Maybe worth making enquiry through your local pusher.

Have the Scaleauto Subaru in both anglewinder and sidewinder , the anglewinder is a great car, the sidewinder i did not like at all it,s the cog size again for me rather like the Scaley Ford, bought a spare chassis and the inline pod for it and now i have a very good car both with Ninco 5's in them.

Interesting to see this from ScaleAuto today. A range of standard screwdrivers and torque drivers T5 and T6 TORX.

They come with either plastic or aluminium handles for two price points.

From memory someone else has also gone the TORX way recently - was it Slotting Plus?

I know when Slot.it started selling TORX as an alternative to M2 hex grub, they were slow to take off.

With more makers introducing this as a grub screw "head" option, they might gradually take a fair chunk of the market.

The advantage as I understand it, is that because there is a greater surface area contact between driver and screw, and also the angular "engineering"; they are less likely to strip the screw head in place.

I will be interested to hear of those using TORX, as to whether the grub screws and drivers from the various makers fit each other to be inter-changable - especially in the light of the difficulties Alexis-In-Greece had with the TORX screw assembly on his Black Arrow model this week.

Scaleauto have released the 2nd generation lot boxes.

A few guys in HB club have them including me. One problem we found was that they were light on frame strength as the was a lot of composite cardboard in the construction. I fixed mine with a strip of aluminium where the base feet pulled through.

Ivan Basos of IBB says the new ones are much stronger. I guess expect in Oz in a couple of months.

So long as hard doesn't mean brittle like their earlier chassis, then this should be a good thing...

PS. Which car is this A7R chassis for?

But it's a slot.it compatible mount...

And has fancy slots cut into it...

Not very NSR to me.

catalogo-scaleauto-17-18-30680.jpg

Scale Auto now have their 2017 catalogue online for free download HERE

Warning if you have a slow connection - the catalogue is 116 pages, so the file is 63 mb in size

The first cars with the new version chassis I put up in August are due out in Europe in the next few days. I don't know how close they are for Oz.

In production the first liveries of the official A7r 24 hour Daytona 2015 and the four cup versions!! Equipped with double-flex chassis along with the new 2017 hard engine support and long can boxer engine SC-11 B

- Do many Oz clubs race their GT and LMP in boxer angle-winder?

This is favoured in Europe as they get maximum magnetic down-force to the plastic rails .... for "non-magnet" racing....

But certainly at our club in Hawkes Bay, we prefer sidewinder setups. My only Scale Auto GT is a Mercedes which is just running a Slot.it hard pod and orange bell sidewinder, and it is much quicker in that format than the boxer, - on my smaller technical track, as it is more nimble.

What about you guys on the bigger, wider open tracks in Oz?

Yes to boxer and sidewinder.

I run a MB SLS 1/32 scale with the endurance motor in our Open GT Class, and the Porsche 991 Cup car in its own class. Remember, my track is only 16m at its longest, and tight. The torque from this motor and setup allows more pace through the twisty bits...

ScaleAuto have confirmed a number of their 2018 product releases.

Among them are a couple of pretty significant announcements outside of their cars and tools.

Firstly, their DS Race Control systems which are widely used in Europe for larger clubs and events and which have been around for many years, get a complete reboot.

The new system is small, modernised, and has new features. - Prices not out yet.

ds2003a.jpg

ds2003b.jpg\

ds2003c.jpg

ds2005a.jpg

ds2000.jpg\

The second is that they are also preparing to release a full plastic track system in stages over the next 18 months.

Being a producer of 1/24th scale hobby quality cars as well as 1/32nd, the track system uses 100mm lane spacing, - yes it will adapt to "a german track"

Below is their comparison of track system widths

track5.jpg

So we now have two of the hobby producers releasing a track. The Italian one matches and improves on the "Spanish Track" used widely in clubs on the continent

And the Spanish producer goes "enter stage left" and moves into the German track space.

Must be something in the EEC water at the present. This is a different kind of Single Market concept :)

Interesting, they say first "stage" of new track product range is summer 2018, so I suppose that is about now. Hope this dosen't break them as it sounds like a massive new range of product! I like the Carrera compatibility concept and interesting about the tight R1 option, though I'm not really sure I would use it.

I suspect they are running late on it, as I haven't had any update from Ivan in the dealer news just of late.
