The latest three trucks turned up last week. The Orange one is stunning, the other two are pretty bland to say the least...........

anyone racing trucks lately ?

i have been sidelined for a long while...

do you race with magnets?

i have added some mods to my trucks

ie. made a thick guide spacer using aluminium , perspex and brass

drilled the holes for a ninco pro guide

they really make a big difference when racing or running them

we usually add a second bar magnet underneath the chassis ,but that seems to be overkill.

so took theminclucing the original magnet

instead

i installed a slot it magnet.

try it . its more fun than having heavy magnets

you have the feel of racing real trucks

photos to follow soon

I'll drive mine around my track every now & awhile,,, last raced them with SWSRG ,,, no mags just weight...& I think the norm is to lower the tyre Dia. .... though i prefer no weight/no mag,,, still a good handful to drive with their great braking & high C.O.G. I have a set of alloys & Mjk's still in the packet... I think they're a great drive as is............ though I do need to fix the guide mount..... my bodge job allows it to do 360`s

lowering the tyre diameter makes it look non scale.

it seems to be imposible to race them with out magnets as they're top heavy

if ever we meet up , i 'll have one guide mount spacer ready for you

what truck do you have?

I have one of each truck race prepared. All have been used in the SCI Fly Proxy. Weights vary from 160 to about 190 grams.

Three have NSR Super grip Singles sanded down to about 24.5 mm. The Buggy and Man are the best so far, they lap around 6.6 to 6.7 on my track, that is about the same as the Tasman GP cars, and about 2 tenths slower than a good Trans Am car.

WE run them basically stock parts, - but blueprinted, everything trued and glued. But I recently drove one that had been weighted up to about 160gms, and I liked that balance better of that.

The mechanics are fairly good, and the low power motor in them make them means they are not too much of a handful.

They aren't ever going to be rocket ships, but they are fun to drive in a controlled way.

Got myself the FedEx truck last week...

So now I have a Sisu and a Man...

Must resist urge to get Merc and Buggy... lol.

Interestingly, the FedEx truck doesn't appear to be a real race truck...

It certainly has no number on it, and very limited 'sponsorship'...
