I updated the portal (http://www.auslot.com/) with the new logo. Looks good, although is not perfect on my resolution as the image has to be enlarged to fit the screen. It is so much better than the old though so no complaints! It's fine. Should look perfect on 1024x768 and below. I'll get the actual forum fixed up with it tomorrow.

UPdated forum now. You should all see the new logo up the top. If not, you probably need to clear your cache. It looks alot better. I might look into making some other cosmetic changes around the boards too.

Thanks manic.

so if your viewing the forums with 1024x768 it should be fine any smaller or larger and it may fit to screen

Anytime Jacob, it's a privilage to help the site in any small way I can. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

I must say it a bit strange logging onto the forum and seeing the header though  Looks a bit more serious (for want of a better word) than the old one that served us well over the last year.

Cheers Manic <_<

Very nice.

<_<

Can you tell us how you get the image to automatically size itself to the frame.

I've set the property for the image to width of 100%, so no matter what size you use, it will stretch itself to that size.

So to get us back onto the topic at hand....Have we gathered enough opinions to determine the format for the 2005 Auslot Photo Comp?

If I can gather up all of the posts and put them into some sort of order, would it be fair to say we are currently at....

2 photo comps. 1 with editing to pictures and 1 without.

Photos to be submitted for viewing/judging at a sensible size (640 wide x 400+ wide ? ) but an enlarged one must be available for use as a desktop background (1024 high x 768 wide) if required.

Theme must be slot related (captain obvious indeed !) hehehe

Perhaps all finalists (if we do it like last year and have finalists) images will be made available at a later date with the Logo watermarked on the enlarged photos. This can be done by Manic, myself or any number of forum members who will help out if required.

Do the mods of this board think the idea from last year of them deciding the finalists worked well ?

Find me at Card Guys for custom trading cards

My personal preference is for all entries to be up for judging by everyone, i.e. no finalists or prejudging.

There are 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary and those who don't

I'm obviously not a Mod but I agree with Bumb, all entries should be up for voting by the forum members.

Phoeno, the only other thing I would add would be number of entries allowed per category. Will this be 2 as per last years guys?

Cheers Manic

Hi NimROD,

since you're sponsoring this competition, you get to make the rules. What are your thoughts so far for rules, categories, judging, dates etc please?

Hi Guy's,

Thanks Bump but I have to agree with Manic  too much power and I corrupt easily ;)

I'm happy with the two categories, 1 - same as last time -pic with no mods &

2 - Pic with any mods you can think of, anything goes.

This is an Auslot comp, I just donated a couple of cars for fun B)

Regards

NimROD

Look out Manic, I have both my entries ready, how are yours going over there ?

Haven't done a damn thing! :D I have put a deposit on a new camera though, don't think I'll have it in time for the comp...

I'm waiting for the rules to be totally signed off on and the submission date set. If I did something now, I would just pick it to pieces and end up submitting something else. :)

Cheers Manic B)

PS - Care to email me your works ;)
