Mohawkk
Why would you put nail polish on eurothane tyres? Was it an accident? Quote Love, Kai
Ember
Hmmm... I've used nail polish to glue tyres on plastic rims with no issues. Possibly depends on the urethane formulation. Roger Miller
Why would you put nail polish on urethane tires? Was it an accident? No accident. It was suggested to glue them onto Alloy rims, with NP. I NP d the stock front tires OD with no problems. Roger Miller
I see Jazzbell uses superglue on his. grt
I make my own polyurethane tyres, and I use acetone (the main ingredient in nail polish and nail polish remover) to clean up the chemicals afterwood, so I am not surprised that the tyres disolved. Superglue is the best thing I've found for polyurethane, and you only need a couple of tiny drops, but you should only apply it inside the channel on the tyres, and position it very quickly, as the glue bonds almost instantly. Roger Miller
Clarity. 400 years ago, I would use nail polish on the front tires, to make them grip even less. This worked well on my front tires of my Reynard as shown. I thought/pondered,..... wonder what it does to polyurethane tires of this century. I have posted my findings. I will use superglue to coat them as shown, by Jazzbell, to make them grip less for longer. Over. Quote ...............Take it easy
Ember
I still suggest it may depend on formulation of the urethane. I've so far used it on MJKs, Slot.it P6s, Mitchellins (supposedly same formulation as Paul Gage uses), DangerMouse brews and Fabio urethanes to glue to rims with absolutely no ill effects. Have also used as surface coating for front tyres on MJKs and Mitchellins. I would suggest that just as "Oils ain't oils, Sol" so too "Urethanes ain't urethanes." Or perhaps it is "Nail polish ain't nail polish." I do tend to lean toward Revlon, MaxFactor and Rimmell because I like their colour range. Quote Computers. They'll never catch on. kalbfellp
Revlon, MaxFactor and Rimmell because I like their colour range Nice pinks and metalics available for front tyres of your colour choice I have used acetone to clean all sorts of tyres, eurethane and rubber with no bad effects. As to coating front tyres I don't usually as I just use very hard eurethanes that I cast. Ember
Phil, in my collection its a pretty fair chance that I've got a good match for the car colour, except yellow for some reason. I learned early on not to use the glitter ones. They look great, but the glitter makes for lumps. Actually, silly stuff aside, the 'quick coat' (single coat and quick dry) ones are great for gluing tyres because they're thicker than most. I wouldn't use them to coat tyres though for the same reason. Quote Computers. They'll never catch on. Ember
Actually, I don't think she wore nail polish. At least in the TV series, and that's all that counts. Or if she did, given the time, it would've been red not black. Not that you can tell the difference on black and white telly. Quote Computers. They'll never catch on.
