inveterate retiree
What a great collection of photos BMR! I found all those exposed chassis particularly interesting. Thanks for taking the time. Quote I used to be surprised that I was still surprised by my own stupidity, finding it strangely refreshing. Well I don't now. I'm over it! Pauls Slots
Hi Steve, Do you know when the release of the 1/24th Ht and or Gt might be from Ian. Need to get a Bathurst car up and running. Even the Val would be good if it ever comes out. Paul Quote Try Harder, if you dont fail your not trying hard enough
BMR
Hi Steve, Do you know when the release of the 1/24th Ht and or Gt might be from Ian. Need to get a Bathurst car up and running. Even the Val would be good if it ever comes out. Paul The best thing would be to email Ian direct about a Monaro , GT or Charger . If the old Valiant R or S series body style is on your wish list you could get a vacuum body from Sunset Bob and then bring it over to my place , I have a bit of resin left over that could be used to make a slushy cast of it , it would be a fair bit of messing around to cut out the windows etc but a worthwhile project in your hands Paul . You do nice paint work so Im sure you would have a nice car on the track , gotta start asap though the Bathurst race at Neils aint that far away . I think it would be a good idea to get our current Trans Am series and adapt it into a Musclecar Masters type series for 2012 , we could then add a whole heap of other body styles into the mix ( all 1/25th scale ) , makes good sense to me so we wouldnt need to add another car class of racing into the 2012 schedule
rick1776
I think that Ian was wanting to run Cheetahs in the classic Australian Tourers. Cant have those pesky TransAm cars being faster than the home grown stuff. Release date is late this year if all goes to plan Paul. BMR
I think that Ian was wanting to run Cheetahs in the classic Australian Tourers. Cant have those pesky TransAm cars being faster than the home grown stuff. Release date is late this year if all goes to plan Paul. re Cheetah motors in the Bathurst class - Ian probably wants cheetahs because most of the "older" build cars we race in the Bathurst race are running s16d motors which would mean using the tracks dual power supply switches , the new aussie bodies could still run against the Trans Am car ( fox motors ) easily enough by using the dual power supply switches there as well to even things out between the two different motors - its crude but works ok in the other mixed motor classes . At least the aussie bodied cars would get to run more often than once a year if we ran the T/A class as a Musclecar Masters type class. Ian may throw another spanner in the works by only selling the new bodies with the new MJK adjustable 1/24th chassis when it comes out ? If the new chassis came into the T/A class it would no longer be a car class based on just the two short and long dogbone chassis (010 & 015 )
rick1776
I think you may be right about the new adjustable chassis Steve. I do remember Ian mentioning something about it. Or maybe my old brain is playing tricks on me???? cheers rick1776 Quote cheers rick1776
BMR
Ians keen to introduce the new chassis - if it turns out to be a better chassis than the current T/A class chassis it will mess up the class a bit . Dunno really until we see it on the track
