Hi All,

After long planning and discussion's over the summer break, I'm glad to announce that racing will get underway at Armchair Racer on Tuesday Week.

The First race meet will be held on the 21st Feburary 2012.

We will be starting the year off with both the Slot It and Plafit Classes.

All further details will be posted on the Armchair Website tomorrow under the heading 'Racing Events' or though this link

http://www.armchairracer.com.au/index.php?main_page=page&id=6

Details and Rules for the SCX GT Class will be posted in the next day or so. The cars will be stock standard, but you are allowed to true tyres and lower your magnet.

Good Lap times with magnets will be around the 6.4 to 6.8 seconds, without will be somewhere around 8 seconds.

With the 4 hr Enduro, the word is that we will be delaying it to somewhere around June/July.

Hope to see everone in the next week or so.

Hi guys, here are the SCX GT Rules for 2012. Thanks for John Van Dyk for helping us with the rules

SCX Class Rules

1. Magnet / non Magnet class .

2. All Cars will be stock standard SCX GT / WTCC or DTM cars , OUT OF THE BOX unmodified .

3. You may true and glue the original tyres .

4. You may lubricate all moving parts .

5. You may adjust the original magnet to your personal liking .

6. See list for eligible cars for this class . any car not on the list will need to be approved prier to racing .

How this class will operate :

1. All drivers will be allowed to start with there original Magnet in place . You can remove the magnet if you wish .

2. Magnets will be removed once a driver has recorded a top 3 finish through the season and not replaced for the rest of the season . ( 1st , 2nd & 3rd place in any of the SCX class race meets )

3. If a driver wishers to change cars during the season and has recorded a top 3 finish he / she must remove the magnet from the new car ..

4. The aim of this class is to bring the back of the field up to the top and to mix up the results .

5. A friendly point scoring system will be in place to keep track of drivers performance through out the series , as well as in the overall series ( all 4 race class )

Note : After testing some new cars , I found that they run much better after run them in for around an hour this also helps in truing the tyers and setting the magnet does make a difference to there performance .

No "point" making you run a pointer; JJ flogged us with one of those last time.

All the Armchair regulars improved a lot with their Plafits last night just by having a masterclass in driving them. We'll be on the pace pretty soon but it won't be easy to beat Jimmy.

Thanks for the hard work again Jason, I don't know if you know, but the google docs have restrictions on them meaning you will need to grant access to every person who needs to see them., Might want to see if there's an option to make them publicly available or you'll have a lot of extra work granting access to people. Also the timing system is looking much better, sounds are pretty good but we could get rid of the beep for each car each lap, better to have a sound only when something special happens?

Thanks for a great night, really enjoyed myself. I think flogged in MZ's is an overstatement, I had a great battle with John VD in one of the heats and Jason Brooks had the second fastest lap time only a poofteenth behind Jim.

If you wanna see flogged, look at our Slotit results.

Thanks to Jason & Jim for putting on another great nights racing & to all the racers for making the night a very enjoyable experience.

On the long drive home the main topic of conversation was how to get our Slot its working better,so thanks guys for the tips & I hope our tips for the Plafits help to improve your cars. They are definately fast enough, just need a bit more tweaking of the chassis & trim those super wide rears & I'm sure it won't be long before I'm chasing tail lights.

Cheers Jimmy :)

To finsh first, first you gotta finish

G'day Jason,

The output from R.C. to Google Docs is great!

The whole way that the R.C program ran was quite cool - not sure about the accent tho... "Wace starts in Twirty seconds..."

Being able to look at individual lap times sure brings back memories of the evening's 'more interesting moments'.....

Healthy turn-out too!

Cheers,

Tony.

There's only two questions:

1. What direction do you go

2. What's the Lap Record?

Hey Ringie,

Most of the guys that race up at armchair use a gear ratio between 2.7:1 to 3:1.

Mostly everyone in the field will use a 10 tooth pinion and anything between a 27 tooth crown to a 30 tooth crown.

My current setup is 2.9:1 (10 tooth pinion and 29 tooth crown, inline setup)

Ill check with the rest of the guys tommorow night.

Cheers,

Jason

sorry guys. My SCX has been a rocket for the last few weeks. John VD had a competitive car until he had to replace his motor on the weekend.

It was close for 3rd in the scx round where Nigel and John A were on the same lap in the final heat. John Crashed and nigel waited as he didnt want to be third. in the end he waited to long a dropped to 6th.

For the Sideways class, John A got of to a good start puting him 1 lap infront of me until he had a bad heat where everyone was all over the place crashing. I caught up eventually winning by 1.7 sec ofer john.

I hope everyone can clearly see all the results on Google Docs properly. There are tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet if you a stuck on the one page. Any problems let me know.

Cheers,

Jason
