Hi Gang!

Sorry couldn't be there last - but certainly will be there for the grand finale on the 29th (thought we were going through to Dec 13th, but that's ok...)

Ian B gave me the rundown on last night, but got my attention by talking about the possibilty of a SCX class for next year....

The way I understood it, it was something along the lines of any SCX car that came with the RX42B run as standard, but with magnet adjustments to act as a 'success weight penalty' as seen in some 1:1 racing?

Sounds quite cool - but if we were to have some kind of discussion about that here before the 29th, that might be a worthwhile thing to do...

Cheers,

Tony.

There's only two questions:

1. What direction do you go

2. What's the Lap Record?

Hi,

Yeah next year the SCX class sounds quite cool, I was wondering if we could remove magnets from all cars, then as an improvement to those like me who arn't up to pace, we can add weight to the cars (say 5g at a time) till we all get so called even. Off course, if you are carring wieght that assist for you to win, then you should remove 5gr back to no addition weight, till you fall into "average" lap times.

Big up all racers!

Jimmy and JJ: thanks for coming, hope you'll come back next year.

Luke: fantastic video again, will be looking forward to a longer edit.

Jason: Really great work promoting the racing this year. It's made a huge difference to our enjoyment on Tuesday nights. New blood, old blood, bad blood; it all works. Unfortunately your car builder's engineering certificate will be revoked until you can get your screws to stay in (PVA in posts works a treat) ;) I liked your camera work too, the shots where you've filmed the cars in three parts of the rack consecutively look great.

  • 1 month later...

Hi All,

Hope everyone has had a great Christmas and New Year.

We are currently in the process in deciding when we will be starting up again for 2012 (Still on a Tuesday Night). We should hopefully have the dates up in the next week or so.

The 4 Classes for this year include:

  • SCX GT Class (New for 2011. Stock Standard Cars Only)
  • Slot It Class (Same Rules as 2011)
  • Plafit 1/27 Scale (Same Rules as 2011)
  • Sideways Host Class (Same Rules as 2011)

We are also creating a Rule Booklet for all the classes in which we will race for this year. At the moment it is in review and will also be ready in the next week. Don't stress too much as the rules have not changed from last year, it's just a bit more in depth (19 pages to be exact)

Also we have updated and fixed the Race Coordinator Timing System so that it will be working in fine form for 2012. We also have audio for 2012 which will help establish when heats are starting and finishing.

We will be creating and uploading more tables this year to keep track of all race nights in 2012. This will include all stats from each race including individual heats, to individual best laps and times.

Anyway, Below is a link of the pointscores from both the 2011 Slot It and Sideways Host Class Series.

https://docs.google....FE&hl=en_US#gid\

We will be hosting another 4 hr Slot It Endurance Race held sometime around late Feburary or March. The rules will be the same as previous, however the minimum number of drivers required for a team has been dropped to 2 drivers from 4. You can still have more than 2 drivers in a team if you with to do so.

We will keep you posted over the coming weeks about race nights for 2012

Thanks,

Jason Brooks

Hi Mark,

The Cars allowed in this series is as followed:

·

Aston Martin DBR9

· Aston Martin GT 2005

· Aston Martin Vantage

· Audi A4 DTM

· BMW 320i WTCC

· BMW M3 GT2

· Chevrolet Corvette C6R

· Chevrolet Corvette GT 2005

· Ferrari 559

· Porsche 911 GT/GT3 Cup

· Renault Megane Trophy

· Seat Toledo GT

· Volvo S60

Any other SCX GT/DTM Car not listed above will need to get approval before it is allowed to race.

NO SCX PRO RACE CARS ALLOWED!

For the Motors, i think we will allow both the RX - 42 and the 42B motors in the class as it is quite hard in sourcing and getting one controlled motor for the class (Just like the SCX Proxy Race). I'll get back to you on that one. I need to hear from John VD. The Rules should be up by mid week.

Again, Dates for racing will not be confirmed until the end of the week hopefully. We are currently working out who will work on tuesday evenings before racing. I get my TAFE Timetable by thursday, so i could be possibly working in the afternoons if available. if not, we will need to get someone in to work those hours. Also Jim has regular check up's up at North Shore Hospital on Tuesday Fortnights and needs to work out which week is a race week. Hope That Made some Sence!!! As soon as we confirm dates, i will let you know ASAP.

With the SCX Class, you are allowed to run with a standard magnet until you have a podium finish next to your name, then you must remove your magnet. This is to mix up the results a bit. You can change cars if you wish, but you still need to remove magnet if you have a podium finish next to your name.

again, i hope that has made some sence! i will let everyone know ASAP when dates and rules are ready. Links and attachments will be posted as well.

Thanks,

Jason
