Supercar fever has officially struck Dapto. 16 drivers lined up on the grid last night, marking the official start to Season 5. We had a new class that rolled out of the transporters, the 1/32nd Slotworx V8's making their debut along side their big brother the 1/24 Slotworx V8's. It was Brooksy who controlled the race pace that managed to take out the victory, the 'MAN' DJR Penske V8 racking up a total of 111.6 laps. Glenn was second past the post, the Red Bull Commodore finishing up with 108.8 laps. Jim finishing in third place, his Darrell Lea STIX Commodore completing 106.6 laps.

We stepped up in scale for the second race as the 1/24 V8's made their appearance. Glenn powered past the competition with his Red Bull Commodore to take out the win with 122.4 laps. Brooksy second with the Norton Nissan, managing 121.2 laps. Gregg rounding out the podium with the Craven Mild Commodore, finishing with 117.4 laps.

Same can be said to you Cam. It's great racing against such a high quality group of guys, and i really enjoy the challenge set each week as that bar keeps creeping up. Plus all the laughs, giggles and shenanigans we all get up to! That's why we love making the trip down to the Gong each week.

Thanks for the report Brooksy. Always good to check out times and reflect on how close it was , you had a great drive in the V8s very close . Are we doing the split in group next week? Think some blokes would enjoy the challenge of racing in the groups as the racing was closer in both heats when we did before .

Thanks to everyone for all the mateship and laughs this year . It has been a very stressful year with all that my family has gone through this year and my Thursday night therapy group has made it a lot easier. Great racing through out the year , its always great to have top drivers to gauge yourself against . It was also fantastic that so many club mates made a big effort to support the major events , MCN ,APC and NSW titles . Looking forward to next year and new classes that are being introduced. Hopefully everyone has a great Xmas and New Years . Thanks again for all the support from everyone over a difficult year .
