Hey Mel and the rest of us in this proxy. Luf has posted the qualifying on another site. Hope no one minds!

That little kiss I gave your car before it left John must have helped. :P

He had told me a lot were having trouble with grip and his track suits the urethane tyres best (same here). Also run at 13 volts so he might reduce the power a bit for the three stages. Although the SCX motors seem to like the extra juice. Look at the Wagga kid go!

I have been tossing around whether to do this or not. Some read it some don't.
It does take time to do but I had some spare time last night and this morning so here goes . . .

Thanks very much for the comments Mel, this sort of in depth feedback is really appreciated.

With my cars the Stratos which seemed to cause you much anguish is actually slightly changed from last year, it has the gearing from another Stratos, a new motor the tyres are now SCX Delta rears from the S4 I am running in the series. The S4 itself has new tyres but is otherwise unchanged, I wasn't sure if the same formula would work again and so far it hasn't,, however it may start to come good looking at the latest qualifying. The Talbot was just 'cos i didn't want to run the same three cars again!!!!

Well done Ben. Not too many can say they were on the top of qualifying on Luf's track.

You will note in my comments on one of the 037 "Close to being on the money. IMO it will perform better on the not so tight/narrow tracks". A lot of different tracks and drivers to come <_<

Love the little Stratos's - note one on the banner

As a track host, and some may not believe this but on a single lane track and 32 cars to warm up and race etc etc it takes a solid 12 - 14 hours without hiccups. So we do not have time to really dig into all the reasons for each cars performance. But what I now remember with your Stratos was it deslotted on too many corners. Certainly thought the gearing (as mentioned) may have been the main problem and as a guess the positioning of the weight.
The S4 I believe will get better as the tyres dial in.
The Talbot just needed twigging but thought it may have done better at Luf's track in Canada (only time trials so far).
