I'm attempting to make a windmill , so far I've got the stand made , the round thingy could be a while off tho because I'm going to have a go at making it actually turn .

If you can get your hands on a few old laptop hard drives the bearings out of them are unbelievably useful for something like that

Modelling and counting practice all in one. Actually, the windmill head looks damned good so far.

I couldn't manage to get the small pieces that give the blades their slope at equal spacings , so I had to cut each blade a little differently that's why they are numbered lol .

These will get it spinning, just need an old 3/32 axle. Scale should be pretty close also.

I saw the numbers onthe blades and thought you'd switched tack, and decided to run a raffle on forum, :lol: :lol:

 

I think "attempting" is an understatement, - it's looking flaming good!

Not having them quite the same is half of the joy of an aussie windmill isn't it? Shouldn't you have a bent blade & a missing one though?? unsure.gif


Captain's log: We are enroute to some planet whose name I cannot pronounce to do something really complicated that I don't understand.

Bent, broken and rusted around here. No need for bullet holes, that's why we have roadsigns.
