gazza
Anyone know how much and when racer one is out? I have recollection of sep and around 500 euro? No idea when it's out, but try around 600 - 650 euro, that's around the $875 mark at the moment. http://www.auslot.com/forums/index.php?/topic/13097-racer-2011/page__pid__148528#entry148528 Quote Quickly read this post before it is deleted or i turn grey again Gary http://www.facebook.com/Rallyproxy2017
gazza
Does anybody recognise where this is? I'm guessing Surfers in 1969. There's another pic with the 58 on it, but the sponsorship is slightly different, so i'm guessing maybe a different place again. The next pic states it's at Sandown and it's first race Quote Quickly read this post before it is deleted or i turn grey again Gary http://www.facebook.com/Rallyproxy2017
Chewycat
Great photos , gotta make ya wonder though , No Holdens on transporters ? must have all been able to drive home after the racing was over huh ooooo gonna get an earbashing for that one huh It is simple really even in racing trim the holdens were in no danger of breaking the speed limit so could be driven to and from the track :D Many years ago I used to work for a guy who was a privateer in a phase three and he use to drive it on the street rather interesting from all accounts but this is a great topic to see how race car transport has evolved over the years and some of the beautiful transporters of the 50's and 60's are works of art in themselves Edited March 7, 2011 by Chewycat Quote Reality what a concept V32 member Slightly one eyed Ford fan Trying to perfect the obscure art of Zen slot car racing

inveterate retiree
I remember back in the early days of Oran Park there was an EH race driver who used to always drive his car to & from the track. The car was a light brown colour. He consistently ran well in his class. I can't for the life of me remember his name. Quote I used to be surprised that I was still surprised by my own stupidity, finding it strangely refreshing. Well I don't now. I'm over it! Photos of my track in progress. KarKraft
I think the story has become mixed-up. The original deal with Coke was negotiated with each separate state Coca-Cola bottler. When he first ran the Mustang, he had problems with some states. IIRC there are pictures of the Mustang at Bathurst in '70 with Stirling shirts over the Coke decals. Courtesy Autopics.com.au Bathurst 1970 Lakeside 1970 That b&w pic posted by Gazza is almost certainly Surfers last corner.
