Building Limestone Pass

Yep that's the one, except all racing is now done indoors. This photo was taken staight after the painting was finished.
Lap length: approx 15.5 metres
Surface: Solver Duraguard (satin acrylic)
Volts: 11
Controller: Wizardgm home made, electronic
Altitude: 58mtrs above sea level. 150mm from lowest to highest point.

It is the same track that has hosted rounds the past 2 years.

Stage 1 will be run tonight, but don't expect results until tommorrow morning, SA time!

Have fun with it. Four hours of constant 11v fun.

Thanks for the feedback Kane.

It really looks like I should have left the NC2 from last year in the Healey and adjusted the ballast only . Could be along series plodding steadily along at the back.

Would love to know who else is running an NC1 as I am wondering if it is a dud NC1 in mine or the car is simply carrying too much weight for the motor.

I think jazz is running a nc1

I know last year tyres where very tail maybe the motor is geared to large for a slow motor
Personally I think motors that rev around the 17 18k mark are great for rallys

Anthony: Jazzbell (101gr,12/36)and OTFS (90.8gr,9/24) have NC8, Gazza ( 75 gr,9/27) and you ( 88gr,9/28) are the NC1 guys.

I think the gearing info is right as I did not pull the cars apart to check the pinions.

Thought you may have done some upgrades but good info for newbies in this proxy.

But . . . typical chippy knows nothing about paint. Two years ago . .

Don't worry Anthony, when the cars get to Sydney we will be handicapping each car on it's last performance. Seconds lead will be seconds lost :) :) :)

Now, wonder what the temperature and humidity will be tonight

All the best tonight Kane, I hope it all goes well.
I would have liked to get there sometime over the weekend but I'm hangin' with the thespians again.
Hopefully the Opel can stay where it is after the prologue, but eight minutes can be a very long time in slot car racing. Good luck to everyone else with a car in the round.
Alan
ps don't worry about the weather conditions Mel, Trigg's slot car palace has it own micro climate.

You're not the first person to make that comment! Nothing intentional when the build was happenning.

Eno's Lancia turned up today with an NC-1 also. I will do a 10 lap prologue with it before stage 1.

That answers your question also Miveson.

Ripper - any ideas what time you'll be doing the stage 1? I'll sit up awaiting the results.... very, very excited (even if I'm nowhere near the front - stay in front of Ember, stay in front of Ember.....)

Stage 1 will be starting shortly but will take few hours. As I am not a night owl and after watching cars do approx 1000 laps total, I will probably post the results in the morning. Depends what time we finish tonight, but no promises for early results.

I do understand your enthusiasm tho mark.

Eno :dog: has sent a Team Slot Lancia that is too wide, :D so at this time it is running ONLY for a time not for points or prizes.

This will not effect any of the other entrants places or points.

Ok, results from last nights stage 1.

Tazracer had pick up issues with a couple of laps to go and limped home. I will inspect closer and rectify before rnd 2.
Ember, your car has plenty of pace but pops out of the corners far too easily, and your slow time is result of too many offs. Having the screws done up tight and no body roll is probably the main cause.
Antony, I think you might have a dodgy motor as it felt like it was really labouring to get round, at a slow pace.

A lot of the quicker cars were a pleasure to drive and the only difference in the score were due to the different amount of offs: some cars hung in easily where as others would pop out at the odd corner
A couple of the slower feeling cars, surprised with their results as they could be driven hard and wouldn't deslot.

It was good fun and there are alot of good fun cars to drive.

My daughter has taken the camera, so no pics available unfortunately.

I am off to play cricket shortly so won't be able to respond until later tonight.

Oh well.. It's not called a learning experience for nothing. Tried to get body float and the darned car just doesn't seem to fit together without the screws done up completely. Obviously I'm missing something. Drawing board here I come.

Go Miveson! Take Eno's car out of the list and you've hit the 20! Well done!
