I cannot remember all the cars without grip.

The track was cleaned with metho and allowed to dry, all the cars tyres were cleaned with a water based cleaned,as many are using eurethane tyres.

I thing Smallnails and Taz may have Ortman tyres as well. They certainly don't grip when eurethane tyres have been run on the track first.

Smallnails struggles for grip when he visits down here.

Looks like my revisions to last year's Healey have proved remarkably successful in making it slower.
What motor powers the Healey Antony?

I do to. It's the Mercury Cider. Although drinking and licking the tyres at the same time shows great improvement.Posted Image

Yngwie,
Last year the car was tippy and overpowered according to the feedback I got. So I took out the black NC2 it ran last year and replaced it with an NC1, I also pulled out the full interior and replaced it with a vac form one, a smidge of weight was removed, while the side weights previously in the chassis were transferred to under the chassis. All this made it perform with much more aplomb on it's one trip round our dusty kid trashed home Sport track before it went in the post, it seemed less tippy and actually slid around sharp corners. Unfortunately what I felt to be an improvement has obviously not translated into the real world. Should have run the Porsche 356.

Nobody is last yet, we haven't really started. B) Initial times are similar to last years shakedown, and all cars raced faster than that. <_<

Exactly. The Fat Lady hasn't even been invited yet.

A shake down on one track doesn't tell you a lot. Different drivers, tracks, hand controllers and voltage still to come.

From my humble experience with rally proxy's it will take 3 - 4 rounds to see how each car really performs.

Fastest laps do not always mean winners. It is how fast each of the track hosts can drive giving each car its best possible shot without or very few offs.

Best of luck everyone.

My money for the series winner will be a stock standard car with only changing tyres, a more suitable (same brand) motor and weight to replace the magnuts. eg: No alternative running gear, no chassis mods other than to allow body roll.

Which pretty much equates to a complete re-hash.

Mine has standard drivers heads, maybe that's where i went wrong. By the by Phil, that vac form interior you did for me looks the part in my bimmer, and at the rate it goes you'll get a really good look at it!

The Stig arrived yesterday afternoon and we were able to run Stage One on this event. This stage was run anti clock wise, that is opposite to the prologue.

So times are not comparable. Haystack will be driving the next stage, clockwise.

Well , I never thought I'd be that far up there. I must have learnt something from you folks who put up all the useful info on this forum ... :)

You must have had an off Embs' . You had a good fastest lap time.

Well mine is not as bad as i thought, not bad for my first ever proxy race, just down on power with that NC-1 I think. Or should of worked on ground clearance. Car left standard in that department ,way to high.

Thanks for running the first stage Phil. Looks like that change of tyres from practice to stage 1 was not a good outcome for my Escort!

Well done to the top guys.

Congratulations to the front runners. It seems all I have succeeded in doing is making the same car even worse than last year. I took the feedback about the car on board and tried to make the thing handle better and am utterly confused as to why what seemed to be an improvement on my home track is just so damn slow.

The Munter machine has turned into a beast.! Yoo really have turned that little car around Munter . Good job.!
There's not much in it, 3/10ths in the fastest lap times for 6 or 7 of us. I hope that plafit pinion of mine hangs in there.

A couple of notes:

Ember Crown gear may be slipping on axle up hill, seems to be slow on the uphill section.
Jazzbell handles well hard to push as hitting scenery.
Anthony handles well by the look just a little slow.
Tazracer Glue your wheels on! One wheel loose! Fixed.
BRK gave the boys the wrong car, a bit over powered for this track.
Mexico had a guide pick up problem, fixed.
Obsidith surprise package!

Stig overdrove his own car! again this year!

Is this the track we are rallying on?

If not, I'd love to see some pics of the actual track.
